It'll be closer than most people think.

I hope Vika can take it though. :scared:

Interesting.

If Ekat wins, this will be another surprise title run this year

Hopefully Vika :D

Although Makarova has had a great tournament, so it'd also be nice to see her win.

That's an impressive list of scalps from both players, but particularly Makarova. Would be nice to see her win, but Vika will be too strong for her.

Makarova beating Azarenka in the final would go with the trend of recent WTA tournaments -- see Rome, Madrid.

As I said in the other thread, Generation Suck Evil Triad is gonna take over the wicked courts of Eastbourne once and for all. The Badmouthing and Pushing Ones already were crowned there, not it's time for The Shrieking One.

Both players have been playing very well, Makarova being very impressive, but I still hope Vika wins ;)

Makarova's one if she wins the title could be a some kind of record. I don't recall anyone going through 32-player draw by defeating 5 top-20 players. Though it probably happened in Filderstadt.

Makarova can win this.

Under the old ranking system Makarova (assuming she won the title) would've received 446 points - almost as many as today's Tier II winners (and tournament points were almost doubled two years ago).

Great to see Makarova making a big breakthrough here in Eastbourne but I still want Vika to win.

Markarova's win over Stosur isnt to be given to much weight. Sam has been playing very ordinary tennis.

If Azarenka plays as well as she did today, she should win this in straights.
