Um what?
I'll give you the net part (clueless maybe at 2007) but its improving every year :)

Re "net part"
I was referring not to Shahar's net game per se but to her inability to produce a winning shot from mid-court area, she opts to step back far too often on such occasions.

Re "return game"
Her returns are harmless, they totally lack both depth and power. Most of the times she just barely rolls return over the net, thus allowing the server to launch an attack. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean she loses the point but such probability significantly increases on grasscourts.

Shahar is a serious operator these days. Of her 12 losses this year so far, 6 have come against the eventual champion of that paricular tourney. So if you win this Ana, settle in for a two week stay in London.

(I know, I'm grasping at straws, Shahar to win imo).

Ana Ivanovic has had two good (admittedly one very good one) tournaments all year. That's it. In contrast Peer has been consistantly good from the start of the year right up to the present. She has beaten masses of very good players throughout the year and frequently been playing to a top 10 standard. Her loss in Eastbourne this week was her 1st first round loss of the year. But Zheng is former Wimbledon semifinalist so I wouldn't even lose sleep over this.

So basically we know Peer is going to come ready to play well. Ivanovic? Maybe, perhaps, possibly. But can we really say with confidence we expect her to play well. I don't think so.

Peer is by far the more likely winner of this match.

How lucky for you that Ana just barely is top 50 (for now).
On the other hand since 2006 Shahar hasn't lost on grass to anyone outside the top 25. See, you're not the only one who can make up stupid statistics based on a ridiculously small sample size.

See, you're not the only one who can make up stupid statistics based on a ridiculously small sample size.4 out of 5 players which beat Ana at Wimbledon so far are grand slam champions and in seasons when beat Ana Mauresmo and Venus(x2) reach finals. Even by far less accomplished player which ever beat Ivanovic here, Jie Zheng, reach SF that year. When I say that 2008 (injured!!!) Safina is only TOP50 player which Peer ever beat at Wimbledon that has nothing with fact that former #1 and Wimbledon semifinalist Ana Ivanovic is barely TOP50 now - only how poor player is Peer at grass. Ana is bageled at Roland Garros, so with bad day anybody can beat her anywhere (even including Peer at grass), but with her just solid performance Ivanovic is clean favorite. Just like last season when Ana is also in big slump, but without pathetic "bad day" she is still good enough to beat everyone from her part of MD (including Sam Stosur) till she faced grass-GOAT Venus. Same thing I expect to see this season thanks to stupid draw and Venus Williams already in round R16.

I don't recall SBL's post being an answer to a question of yours...
Obviously he's too articulate for you, then skip his posts and leave them to people who can actually read more than 10 words at a time.

4 out of 5 players which beat Ana at Wimbledon so far are grand slam champions and in seasons when beat Ana Mauresmo and Venus(x2) reach finals. Even by far less accomplished player which ever beat Ivanovic here, Jie Zheng, reach SF that year. When I say that 2008 (injured!!!) Enough with that "Safina was injured in Wimbledon '08" crap already! She was perfectly healthy, not to mention in the form of her life, to start the match, and cramped towards its end (after saving a MP in the 2nd set I might add) after it went on for over 3 hours, at which point Shahar's great stamina and physical condition were the deciding factor. There wasn't any luck involved (speaking of Ivanovic at Wimbledon... ). And that was when Shahar was slumping.
Granted grass isn't Shahar best surface, but neither is Ana's. The only good run Ivanovic ever had on the lawn was at Wimbledon in '07 (SF), and last two years (R4 or worse) she had to save match points against Hradecka () and a semi-retired Dechy (we all remember how exactly did that happen). Did nothing in the preparation events either. Which brings us to another point: you only look at Wimbledon results instead of looking at all grass results (which are still too few to really predict something).

As I already said, Shahar's losses on grass have all been to top 25 players ('07 Mauresmo, Bartoli [who was playing the tournament of her life], '08 Petrova, Dementieva, '09 Petrova [just coming back from injury], '10 Zheng [former semifinalist]). Ivanovic has lost to the same Zheng and Petrova, once to Dani and twice to Venus, but has just lost a match to Petkovic, which is not exactly a grass GOAT.
One more stat for you: H2H Shahar-Ana 2-0, and was when Ivanovic was on her way up, and ranked higher both times.

The only thing going for your arguments is that peak Ivanovic >> peak Peer, problem is peak Ivanovic hasn't been seen for two years and peak Peer is now.
As many people told you already, don't worry about Venus in R4, because Ana won't get to play her.

I've had second thoughts about this. I dont know if Peer deliberately tanked against Zheng at Eastbourne, but Ana went down in three against Petkovic who almost went the whole way taking scalps.

Ana's form minus the flogging from Klebs is actually very good, and if Peers form on grass is as the results indicate, Ana can win this.

It has to be in straight sets though, because she lacks the mental toughness.
