Whatever happened to Karin Knapp?

I was never a big fan of her but I remember her getting to the final of the Diamond Games once, but I've not heard of her much since :confused:

she had a heart issue i think, she needed a surgery i believe?

Yeah, I was thinking about her the other day too! She was very talented - I think she's showing up in some ITF's recently but I could be mistaken?

She played in $25k Padova this week. Qualified for the main draw and lost 7-5, 4-6, 2-6 to 6th seed Julia Mayr in the opening round.

She and Kaia Kanepi used to be my Dermot Mulroney/Dylan McDermott of tennis.

She had hearts problems, had surgery, recovered, and then she got a serious knee injury:sad:

But now her knee is finally healed and she is starting to play some tournaments again :D

I miss Karin! :sad:

i'm ashamed to admit that i had completely forgotten about karin knapp :o i remember her good run at antwerp in 2008, beating dechy, shvedova, schnyder and na li before losing to henin in the final.
