Mmm...Serena I love you girl but that big hair just adds to the unfortunate and too often drag queenish type look. Venus definitely looks like the elegant Queen of Wimbledon that she is. I actually like Jankovic's dress. Ivanovic's patterned dress makes my head hurt if I look at it for too long. Sharapova has a decent dress but she has no shape so its just straight up and down. Nice shoes, though. Safina's outfit = :help: She looks like she's in her late 30s.
It makes her look way older than she is and its too matronly for her. The outfit itself is very sophisticated. I like simple and elegant and the outfit definitely is, but its not age appropriate.

This is a surprisingly well-dressed players party! I think most of them look great.
The best, for me, are Venus, Maria, Sorana, Ana, and Agnieska. Venus is really elegant and stunning, great hair and make-up and dress. I think Serena over-did her look a bit, although it's good for her. Love Maria's dress and heels. I think Sorana's dress is adorable and she looks so adorable in it. She might get best-dressed award for the night. I see that Ana's receiving a lot of flack for her dress and hair, but I actually really approve. She's going for a high fashion look and IMO she pulls it off very well. A-Rad is just hot! Damn! Also really like Dinara's haircut.
So many of these women clean up well. The heels help.
Unfortunately, Chaky was a disaster at this party. And obviously Fran too. :o

Thing is I actually like Maria's dress - but I also think that it misses on her. The colour is gorgeous, but she is too pale/cool to bring out the richness of it and it would look much better on a warmer/darker complexion). The fabric is fantastic though (love it close up) and it has simple shape to it... (Not too fond of the side on photos either...)
Anne Keothavong's loose print dress would have been fine if it fit her a little better and wasn't over-long. (Yes, I get that it's meant to be long but if you're a short woman you still need to make sure that it's not so long that you don't end up looking like you got accidentally tangled in some drapes.)
Ana continues to have little dress sense. Cirstea's look - the dress, shoes, hair and the entire outfit is trying to be cute and girlish but looks awful imo. With JJ and Radwanska we get the usual, except that Radwanska's dress flatters her but for some reason she is the colour of an oompa-loompa. I don't think Mariah "Mimi" Carey has any dress sense at all, so I don't understnd why anyone would want to pay tribute to, let alone 'channel' her... (And the boots...) Dinara is dressed like she's a middle-aged spinster on her way to the supplies room in the office. (Agree that she could have gone the lipstick librarian route or added a little personality to the look, but she hasn't.) I haven't even had the courage to look at a Woz photo yet. Franny? :help:
Venus looks good and continues to keep it simple, dress for the occasion, choose the right colour and dress to specifically suit her body type - but all in all, most of them look awful this year.

I already read what Sammo said thanks and don't actually agree with him in *this* instance. I'm not questioning Maria's fans perfect right to defend her fashion choices. But mentioning 'Vogue dressed best lists' as a perpetual defense as if it automatically makes her fashion choices immune to criticism or above reproach is an old, predictable and not particularly compelling argument. If someone thinks her style is horrid or they don't care for a particular outfit then mentioning Vogue isn't going to matter. If she's wearing something nice and she looks good in it, it doesn't make a whit of difference whether Vogue likes it or hates it. Besides, it's not as if it would have been that hard for joao to point out that *this* particular dress is a really nice dress. (I'd wear it in a heartbeat.)
Not going to defend that biscuit or biege number with the smocking and tie-belt though... I'll leave that to her fans. ;)

I already read what Sammo said thanks and don't actually agree with him in *this* instance. I'm not questioning Maria's fans perfect right to defend her fashion choices. But mentioning 'Vogue dressed best lists' as a perpetual defense as if it automatically makes her fashion choices immune to criticism or above reproach is an old, predictable and not particularly compelling argument. If someone thinks her style is horrid or they don't care for a particular outfit then mentioning Vogue isn't going to matter. If she's wearing something nice and she looks good in it, it doesn't make a whit of difference whether Vogue likes it or hates it. Besides, it's not as if it would have been that hard for joao to point out that *this* particular dress is a really nice dress. (I'd wear it in a heartbeat.)
Not going to defend that biscuit or biege number with the smocking and tie-belt though... I'll leave that to her fans. ;)
Alright, I see your argument. Mentioning Vogue isnt a great argument to someone who is already convinced that he doesn't like her dress. But it's definitely shows that it's not her dresses and rather his taste of fashion :shrug: I mean, it's kinda tasteless to say that all of dresses suck.

I actually think Serena looks quite nice. Venus, well she's got an amazing body but what a disappointing dress, if the dress was on someone else it would be a disaster, I mean it's so unflattering. Anna looks like a maid with the dress and with her hair pulled back, what a shame coz she's got quite a good body and she's actually a pretty girl.
Ana:o What the hell is wrong with her? Her hair style here totally accentuated how big her forehead is imo.
