Bovina should be applauded for not giving up but it's painful to see what has become of her.

After yesterday's marathon win it was going to be a pretty tall order to beat Kanepi who is clearly playing well above qualifying level right now. Glad she got a win though, shame she came up against the top seed!

Nice to see Kaia playing well again, keep it up!

I don't think I've even seen her play since 2005. What has happened to her? She used to be SO good.

Kaia has been on fire since defeating Henin in FC.

It might be time for Elena to call it a career, unfortunately  .

This. Perfect post really. She started not the year not so badly though, unfortunately she hasn't been able to play as well since.

Keep working hard Elena, this was a really tough draw. I always enjoyed Bovina's matches against Capriati. Always thrillers.

And well done Kaia. :yeah:

Elena

Completely disagree with people saying Elena should give up. Sure she's not playing as well as she used to, but considering her marathon yesterday most would have lost their match today. Also, I'm pretty sure Kanepi would beat almost everyone in this qualifying draw. Wouldn't be surprised if she wins a few rounds in the main draw too.

Keep trucking Elena. Hopefully you're old form will return. If anything you should be commended for not giving up. :yeah:
