Well done Jiejie.

She also broke Shahar's 3-set winning streak in 2010.

Ahhhh! What the hell is wrong with this biaatch!

Blew out the Chinese midget in the 1st set and then completely falls apart in the next 2.
She couldn't hold serve to save her life in sets 2 and 3.

Women!

Well I think it is more like Jie was sleeping in the 1st and finally woke up in the 2nd and the 3rd.

This is very typical Jie indeed. She won her first 3 matches in AO having been crushed in the 1st set.

:woohoo: Jie!!
i was like 'wth' in the first set, but she pulled it together.
she's clearly the better grass-court player.

Jie's coach probably bets on her to win from a set down.

This is Shahar's FIRST 1st round loss in 12 tournaments she's played this season.

Impressive consistency.

Especially considering the heap of 1st or early round exits in 08-early '09.

Moreover, if I'm not mistaken this is only the second time this year Shahar failed to win consecutive matches at a tournament.

That's what got me about this match's result. Jie isn't a bad player, but she's not that good to take Peer down like she did in sets 2 and 3. Peer's 1st serve pts won went from 80%+ in the 1st, to 50%+ in the 2nd and 45%+ in the 3rd.

She contributed a lot to losing this match.

Jie is relatively good on grass, Peer isn't :p

This is also Shahar's FIRST three-set loss of the season. She won all 11 three-setters she had played before that.
