Not a great match but Petkovic can be satisfied, she won it, should give her come confidence again, hopefully starts to like the grass slowly ;)

THIS is now a pattern for Ana losing in second rd or 3rd rd at events, she has to swallow her pride and play MM for confidence.

not unexpected, petkovic isn't exactly good on grass but you have to be dire these days to lose to ivanovic on a fast surface.

Awful... Only 12 aces were positive. Waiting for a miracle in Wimbledon. 1 or 2 wins will be great.

Andi just played brilliant returns Ana barely couldn't handle. And her bh cc volley drop shots did harm Ana a lot.

But that's alsmost been a result of Ana's slumpy serve :fiery:

Ana's running out of excuses. She can still present herself as hopeful and positive but there comes a time when results are needed, not pretty words.

At least Ana looked hot and had a nice outfit on :o

Petkovic has more wins over former world #1´s than Wozniacki. :p

Ana is back. She won 12 games. That is enough to win matches. :worship:

If Ana does not do something soon, she will slip into oblivion.

It is nice to stay positive and tell whoever wants to listen that your game is coming together, but if tournaments after tournaments, there is nothing to show for it, people would stop listening.

Ana had so much promise just a couple of years ago, where has it all gone?

Jun 15th, 2010, 02:32 PM
Where to begin.

She is exuding such a lack of confidence to her opponent now.
Her footwork is horrible, which results in all these spraying errors.
Her backhand is nonexistent, no firepower behind it at all.
Her return of serve was awful, with more than 50% of the balls being dumped into the net.

Except for the serve at times, she played like a player outside the top 100. If she doesn't get her act together, she will end up there.

Ivanovic was fortunate really to take that second set, had a lot of lucky shots in the TB. Petkovic was just the better player overall and deserved her win.

I feel bad for Ivanovic now that she stopped being obnoxious. She should be like this even when she is winning.

Jun 15th, 2010, 03:04 PM
A break now would make her comeback just that more difficult. She needs a new trainer and a coach with better tactics. No player in the top 100 should have a backhand like she has right now. It will be shocking to me if she doesn't address this issue now that her serve is better.

Petkovic lost again a close second set after winning 1st, did she choke or did Ivanovic play better?

petkovic had control of the breaker but ivanovic got lucky with a net cord winner at 3-4 and andrea sprayed a few errors after that. It was pure luck that Ana took this to three sets.

Petkovic lost again a close second set after winning 1st, did she choke or did Ivanovic play better?

She didn't choke. From 4:2 to 4:6 -> First a netcord, then two strong serves from Ivanovic followed by a nice BH slice return cross court right behind the net...
