What a bad loss for Agnieszka :help:  Especially that it's on grass, even tough it was windy today I still expected her to win. Too bad her confidence is so low right now, another close set lost and she seems to give up

Aga wasted a lot of chances (including SP) in the 1set, after Vika won it the outcome of the match was predictable

Congrats Vika

Seriously, Azarenka is playing shit lately, and is probably the only top 20 player who doesn't have serve advantage over Aga. Being breadsticked by Azarenka ON GRASS is just terrible, even worse, it shows that Radwanska probably wasn't even trying after that 1st set.

(and she was really scheduled to play in Bundesliga with Domachowska this month :secret:)

Not surprised really.
Radwanska turned into a gobby "STAR" and seems to be spending every free minute on facebook instead of getting herself to the gym or the training court.
She winges about her heavy schedule but hardly has a chance to play matches as she loses early everywhere she goes.

I'm still a fan though ;)

Radwanska does not belong in the Top 10. Hardly ever has any good slam results except at Wimbledon, and hasn't won a title in over two years. :o In fact last year she barely made it past a quarterfinal.

Radwanska is better than Azarenka on grass.

Oh, really? So much better that she won all of 7 games?

I think this result can put to rest the myth that Radwanska is extraordinary on grass. Yes, the surface is a good one for her and suits her strengths and she has had some nice finishes in the past, including an Eastbourne win and two Wimbledon QFs. But so what. She can still be easily outhit by a bigger hitter on an okay day. Azarenka is much more powerful and thus Radwanska was blasted off the court. What are Radwanska's best wins on grass anyway? Petrova, Kuznetsova? Azarenka beat the former en route to her first Wimbledon QF last year, and Kuznetsova is consistently a mess at Wimbledon.

Aga is a better grasscourt player than Azarenka and her results have proven it
at Eastbourne:
2007: R16 Lost to Henin
2008: Winner
2009 QF lost to finalist Razzano

at Wimbledon:
2006: As a WC got to R16 lost to Clijsters
2007: R32 lost to Kuznetsova
2008: QF lost to Serena
2009: OF lost to Venus

Those Wins are much better compared to Azarenka:
at Eastbourne:
2008: Lost 1r to Rezai

at Wimbledon:
2006: 1r loss to (oh wow) Radwanska
2007: R32 loss to Vaidasova
2008: R32 loss to Petrova
2009: QF loss to Serena

Therefore the stats prove that Agnieszka is a much more achieved grass court player than Azarenka. Try Again

So? Vika had a injury-filled clay season and didn't play since RG. Makes them equally pretty low on confidence.
And it's not like Aga's form always has such a big impact on the outcome of a match. Sorry but it's more like 'will Aga be overpowered or not?' most of the time. And I am not a hater, I quite like Aga. :)

Azarenka is not better on grass. One day you will be able to accept this.

Radwanska is simply a better grasscourt player on game style, ability to come forward better than Azarenka, and in general overall more competent on the surface.

Azarenka is not better on grass. One day you will be able to accept this.

LOL, who the hell are you? I'm not even a huge Azarenka fan, nor a Radwanska-detractor. In fact I do enjoy Agnieska...when she's not playing like a braindead doll.

No shit Radwanska's game style is more suited to grass. But Azarenka is a better player on all surfaces. She will beat Radwanska more times than not because she is better. Proved that yesterday, beating Radwanska, on her supposed best surface, and on her personal worst surface.

People on this board give a little too much emphasis on surface. The surfaces are not as unique as they used to be in previous decades. Grass is slower than before, and has a bounce more like hardcourt, and even most clay has gotten faster. I remember a similar case with Ivanovic vs. Azarenka in the FO '09 R16, and everyone at WTAW picked Ivanovic to win and claimed she was so much better on clay than Azarenka. Yet she got wallopped. Sometimes, surface doesn't matter. If Vika's shots are going in, she's deadly on any surface at any time. It doesn't matter if her game is "less suited" to it.
