Sabine just got her cast removed and no longer has to use the crutches.
But is there enough time to get ready? be match fit for Wimbledon?
Has she entered any warm-up tourneys?

I have a bad feeling her comeback won't start until US hard court season

On her homepage Wimbledon is still listed as her next tournament, and she said a while ago that she hopes to be ready for grasscourt season but we also dont have more information. But yeah, from her posts on twitter and her blog, it doesnt seem to be realistic that she will be able to play Wimbledon as so far she wasnt even able to play tennis it seems, but nothing official yet!

That's a shame, but she better not rush it, if it's too soon. :awww:

So she will be back on the court next week for pratice, but she didn't know how to react her feet.

I don't think that she could play at Wimbledon. Maybe at one of the smaller tournaments after Wimbledon.

Its pretty unlikely, she'd get basically NO training done before Wimbledon... which increases the odds of her picking up yet another injury.

Interview was from Friday, that means that she will be back on court this week :p
But still, pretty unlikely that she is able to play, she has two weeks to practice now, hopefully she will just stay healthy now, no more pain and then she will definetly able to come back at least after Wimbledon but it seems like she will try it at least and then decides it right before Wimbledon if she plays nor not...of course only if on court training works fine!

she rushed back the last time, so i hope she won't this time around. she shouldn't look at her ranking right now.

I don't understand what you guys are saying in German, but I think that she should play some hard court ITF's in a few weeks, then try small WTA tournaments like Portoroz, Istanbul, and Copenhagen and work her way back up...

Yes, but in Europe there is only Pozoblanco as a hard court ITF tournament in the 2nd week of Wimbledon.

Or she will go early to the US. There are 2 hard court ITF tournaments in July.

Edit:
It seems to be she's on the entry list for Portoroz

She will lose many points. But she rushed back too quickly before only to be injured again soon after. So I think her decision is right.

The rehab is going well but unfortunately not good enough to play Wimbledon. I did everything to be able to play but I didn´t have enough time to be ready. It was really hard for me to pull out of the tournament because I have so many great memories! But I need to be fit and healthy to play again!

Last week I was on the court for the first time. The weather was amazing and it just felt so good to play again! I keep on working hard to come back soon. In the next few weeks I´ll do lots of fitness training and I´ll start to play more and more tennis. 8 weeks ago my swimming wasn´t very good but it really is getting pretty good now!
Thanks to all for supporting me through the tough times.

Official statement from Sabine after she withdrew from Wimbledon!
Doesnt sound too bad, but to be honest, but I think it was never realistic that she can play Wimbledon as she isn´t even able to play on court regularly yet!
Hopefully we´ll see her then in Portoroz

It's sad she can't play and will lose all her points, but I think it was the better decision for her health. She should recover 100% now to come back fit and strong!

She shouldn't care about rankings now, if she is fit and will stay fit she'll soon be ranked as high as she used to.
