This is an excerpt from the article about Fed Cup:

Over the weekend, Clijsters lost in the semifinals of the tour's championships in Munich, Germany, falling to Davenport 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3). Davenport can see Clijsters challenging for No. 1.

``She's had a phenomenal breakthrough year,'' Davenport said. ``It takes some time to win the big matches, and she's almost there.''
-----------------------------------------------------------
What do you think?

I think Lindsay is right, I can definitely see Kim battling for the #1 spot.

The #1 spot is asking a lot. There's a reason there have been so few #1's. But 2 or 3 GS titles? I think her career would be a bit of a disappointment if she DIDN"T win at least two.

With the exception of the serve, Kim was the better player in the Sanex SF against Lindsay. She was clearly the aggressor and was doing more to win points. Double faults in tie-breakers are a killer.

She plays like her boyfriend. Or maybe he plays like her.
