Go Sam. Can't wait to come here in two days time to see the Belgians drying their eyes when you wipe Henin off the court.

Credit where credit is due, she's having a great year and is the most consistent performer on tour in my opinion. With Sam you always know what you're going to get. No wobbles or serving issues. She's pure determination all the way. She won't win this tournament but may make the semis.

Should be in the Top 5 by the end of the year.

To me, given the pre-tournament odds, and even, probably current odds of bookies, Sam is the best value for money.

Congrats to her, yeah. I find her game boring, but she's retaining points. So good on her.

When she played that match a few weeks back, when everyone on here was raving she was playing like Roger, there was one bookie still had her 150-1 for about 18 hours after, and I should of been one of the ones that backed her at that price, but I forgot :o So those lucky buggers that weren't so forgetful, they'll be the ones interested in Cyborg Sammies progress. I would prefer not to be reminded of her progress...:banghead:

Sam has supporters everywhere, not just Aussie. Just go to her player forum.

Sam's fans are not bragging types. We're glad she's made the 4th round quietly.

What about Pivovarova? She has no fans? ;)

I can't believe there are non-aussies able to watch her one-dimensional gameplay and her UE variety
My bad. I underestimate her game....maybe

I'm very interested being an Aussie as I love to see the Aussie players do well. She get the winner of Maria and Justine in the 4th round. Hoping it's Maria as she is the weaker of two on clay.

Sam has never done that well against Maria, whereas she took a set off Justine in Stuttgart. Good luck whoever she meets.

Do you think she is capable of beating either Justine or Maria and then having to go on and play against Pe'er or Williams?

Not asking as a means to say no. just wanting to hear opinion (please don't post hopeful messages, I want opinion :P)

She is capable yes. It would really mean that she has to move to a new level to beat Justine/Maria then Wlliams in the next match, but then over the past 12 months, Sam has achieved many things ("new levels") that she had never done before. It's a big ask, but it's not out of the question.

I always expected her to get to the 4R without any drama, so now is where I start to care.

Her performance against Maria has not been the best, to say the least. I'm still trying to forget that match in Tokyo where Maria absolutely thrashed Sam. Granted, it wasn't on clay but I think most Stosur fans dread seeing Maria's name anywhere near Sam's on the draw.

Do you think she is capable of beating either Justine or Maria and then having to go on and play against Pe'er or Williams?

Depends, really. If Sam plays her best then she has a chance of beating Justine or Maria, as long as Justine or Maria don't bring their best game in the match as well.

Disons que c'Útait pas Úvident pour Patty d'affronter Venus au 1er tour. :p
