Thank god. I was on Peer at -4.5.

I thought I was gone after the tie break, but Peer came good and gave that girl a good hiding.

I love the Peer money train.

A bit unfair marion had to lose the first set on a bad call but after that peer was just better.
Marion must be relieved to see the end of the clay season though.

About expected, doesn't sound like a good second set despite the 1st set TB dodginess.

Keep going now Shahar:)

That line call was the decider. Clearly out.
But good result though, I was impressed with the first set and bits of the second lol!

Marion stopped playing being down a SP in 1st set to show Peer's ball was out. She crossed the mark and the umpire decided it was good :)

Marions call at set point was great. She wanted it to go out so bad...

why are u saying that the mark was out when it was obvious that it was in, and Marion wasn't even complaining? We had a close-up and there was contact with the line undoubtedly

I don't have even a smidgen of hope that Peer would win the next round, but I wish she would just make it competitive for once. Has she ever even come close against either Venus or Serena to making them sweat? Not that I can remember...

She had chances to win against Serena at AO07, other than that I don't know

yep, but mark shows that the ball is in. And that is what matters, isn't it? Hawkeye is not that accurate. And besides, since when there's an Hawkeye?

Good match from Marion. She'll be ready for the grass season :) She just has to improve her returns, they were not good enough today.
Shahar was just better, well done!

The unofficial hawkeye used by The Tennis Channel also shows the ball clearly out.

It was shown on some French television channel.

Marion was never going to win in 3, really had to take the TB.
Shame the set was decided on an incorrect call but stopping the ball on SP is very risky, especially as you had a play on the ball :weirdo:.
Oh well grass is here now :yeah:

She was 2 points from knocking out Serena in the 07 AO QF. :p

The picutre shows the mark which clearly doesn't touch the line and hawkeye also confirms the ball was out.

Marion should have gotten the first set.

Peer showed why she dominates Marion. On the deuce court all Peer has to do is spin the 1st serve out wide. Whether Peer goes DTL the next shot or CC behind Marion, Marion is instantly in great danger. She is competent enough at net to finish off anything floating. Marion got to a TB mostly because Peer's discus-finishing FH was worse than usual which is probably why she also lost a set to Mattek.

Maybe she plays better against Serena than Venus? Because her last three matches against Venus have been painful.

Great win for Shahar. She played really well with many winners. :worship:

Good luck against Serena! You can do it!

Disgusting set point. Given Marion's record against Peer and more so her terrible form this year I am not too concerned about the loss, but knowing she should have got the first set I'm very annoyed now.

Moving on to the grass now. Enough is enough, Marion.

Yeah. She hits right into Venus' strike zone so all their matches have been beatdowns.

I think the most competitive was in Dubai SF this year.

Shahar is hopeless against Venus, but I sort of give her a chance against Serena, especially considering how weak Serena looked against Pavlyuchenkova. (And I mean 'weak' as in poorly/ill, not as in bad form).

yeah, what I was going to say. She did better than last year, made it competitive and she lost to one of her friends so I dont mind too much. This tournament helped, was worried after Madrid/Warsaw.
