Just wonderful. Slava sure has come a long way. This was perhaps the best I have yet to see her play. Trading blows with a player as powerful as Alisa and actually matching her for power but doing it with more consistency...wow....just unbelievable.

Slava did everything right this match. She was aggressive but steady, mixed in some nice finesse without overdoing it and still emphasizing her power, and perhaps most importantly stayed totally focused and determined at all times. She also moved magnificently around the court. There were some very long duece games in this match and Slava never let them slip from her fingers. Best of all was that the girl who delighted me with her enthusiasm and smile when I first saw her play almost four years ago hasn't changed. She still looks like she is loving the competition and one can still she her smiling between points and sometimes even during them. And the smile once she won......glorious. :bounce: :inlove: :rocker:
