Only saw it today so can't comment on the rest of the match. Tepid ending from Aravane whose inability to win her own serve meant that it was just a question of whether Nadia would continue to choke. This was always going to be a tough match as Nadia has been on good form on clay too and is so much more experienced. So the caravan must go in for a few repairs, she still needs a bit of fine tuning!

Just hope Nadia is not too tired and is ready to face Venus Williams as I am sure she is well capable of beating her on this surface.

There was some great ball-striking by both, but Nadia should have won this over but finally asserted herself. She deserved her win. Nadia was hitting the ball extremely well, and her movement is looking very good. Whoever emerged from this match is going to be sharp.

It is known that top players do not exert themselves a few weeks before a slam. When the draw came out & I saw this potential match up I knew that Rezai would lose. Petrova should have won it in 2 sets yesterday, but at least she got job done at last. I dont hate Rezai or anybody else from players, but reality check is good for her and for her fans also. And all this hype was ridicilous anyway, zillion Rezai- threads , articles and interviews everywhere like she was some most important person in tennis 2010 or future GOAT.Well, she is not. She is just a good player who managed to win big tournament right before slam, nothing very special or extraordinary here. It happened before , it happens again.

Rezai is a tremendous player, but things can get tough when you face "The Matron." "The Iranian Soldier" has a bright future ahead of her.
