Has anyone hit 4 double faults in a row to lose a game?

The most i've 'managed' was 3. :p

I think I hit like 7 in one game and still won it

I have a good serve, and unlike my darling Maria, I rarely double fault in my tennis matches. Even under pressure, especially the secondary school competitions.

Actually, today.
Went up 40-15. Then served 4 straight double faults to lose it. IT was bad. My last 4 serves (2 1st and 2 seconds) didn't even clear half the net.

I actually don't think I've ever served more than 1 double fault in a row  However, in one of my first matches, my opponent started out with 4 double faults then he broke me and served another double fault, so that was 5 in a row for him

I lost the match 36 06 though :tape: Luckily I've improved since then.

Not me.

But about 2 weeks ago I was playing doubles and my partner did it. I pretended to laugh with him, but I really just wanted to take his head off with my racket.

I remember I was playing a friend once and I was like 5-0 up and was serving for the set and I hit 4 double faults in a row. I think I lost the match 7-6, 6-0 after that too. :rolls:

But I'm really really bad. So bad it's not even funny.

Nah, not 4. Did two in a row today, but it was expected. I'm actually serving my second serve decently now and not just putting it on the other side of the ball at a snail's speed.

I did 3 in a row, but it was close to 4. I served my second serve right on the line. :tape: :)

Sometimes I don't make any double fault in match but my record is 5 double faults in game :tape:. First, I made 3 for 0-40, than saved 3 break points and then again made two double faults :tape: :rolls:.

I have a similar experience.

My high school teammate and I were playing double in our state tennis competition and he double faulted five times in a row from 40-0 up to lose the game. He smashed his racket enough for the both of us after that.

Done it. On more than one occasion I'm afraid.
I played a tournament this weekend and it was SO windy and my toss is steffi-graf high so the wind would take it everywhere. Not to mention I had run a 3 mile competition about 5 hrs before so my legs were really shaky.

I broke my opponent's serve and then gifted him the return break by hitting 4 dfs in a row.

I'm so over tennis.

You played a practice match where you did all the serving?

Nope, but i've done something almost as bad. I hit 3 DFs in a row and then had a 2nd serve where i decided to hit a total floater (so i wouldn't DF the game away ) . To make a long story short, i fought back to deuce only to still lose the game :p. I think it would have been allot easier to swallow if i'd just DF'd the whole game away .

I manage to string up 8-10 dfs while I was servin. If not I hit Ues, the opponent a beginner was very nice he hitted moonballs , we could moonball for 5 -7 minutes than hit a error by me most of the time The match lasted 3 hours + . I had only 5 gp I df 4 and hitted the other one to the other court :tears:

It's fun when your a beginner :hearts:

Three double faults is the most I've hit consecutively. :tape:

 As for aces, I've hit 3 unreturnable serves in a row before, but never 4 aces.

My serve is technically terrible. It looks horrific, it's really abbreviated with a low ball toss, but I somehow hit it hard enough to win some free points.

I once played a guy who served up FIVE doubles in a row after going up 40-0. I kid you not.

I've done it a couple times against Mr.SerenaWilliams. I figure it's better just to DF then puff my second serve in and have him hit the return faster then my serve right back at me and hit me again.

Here's the deal: I've double faulted 8 times in one game before, but it was all on the ad side. It was my first service game of a high school doubles match. I was a Dementieva my freshman year, great groundies, return, and speed and strength...but couldn't serve worth a damn. My doubles partner was like...look...you could tap it in for all I care, just get your serve in...and it took 9 times on the AD side to get one in.

Conversely, I've hit 4 serves to win the game.

0-0: Slice serve out wide ace.
15-0: Flat serve out wide ace
30-0: Flat serve up the T ace
40-0: Flat serve out wide service winner.

That was back in the day when I had a GOAT flat serve. Now with my arm injuries I'm not quite getting the top speeds on the serve.
And I'm only 28

I was gonna post this same thing for my DF story. Not sure if your match was singles or doubles, but mine was doubles. My partner got so irritated with me too. :o

Luckily, my serve has gotten better and I don't DF much at all. It seems as though when I do, I df twice in a row for some reason, kinda like Venus I guess. :p

Used to DF a lot when I didn't put any spin on my second serve, essentially it was a slowed down version of my first serve. Now I don't DF so much, maybe twice a set on a bad day. It's just weird being told that you have to move your racquet head faster to get more control by getting more spin - it feels so counter intuitive. Every time I have to hit a second serve on a big point I have to remind myself to go for it more rather than less.

It happened in the tournament which I won this year and which marked my biggest success ever in tennis...
I was in the final, I won the first set 6-4, lost the second one 3-6 and in the third one I was 4-5 down, his serve...
He lead 30-0, then hit 4 DFs  5-5.
I hit two aces to hold for 6-5.
and he again hit 4 DFs to make me win 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Those were his only double faults of the entire match..!
He was sooooooo nervous :haha:
