Well, they gave everything they have, and with a bit more luck maybe they would have won, like if Olivier hadn't had cramps.
But they did really well today, and yesterday in doubles. But El Aynaoui was so strong this weekend in his singles matches.

Although they lost, Congrats to the Belgian team anyway, for the way they kept fighting!

El Aynaoui was also very arrogant, I didn't like his attidtude at all .

But congrats to Morocco, they were too strong this time.

I saw some great tennis this weekend. Tom and Christophe have played a great doubles (we're not longer that weak in doubles). Xavier played one hell of a match against Arazi (who played very good too, I really like the way he plays) and Christophe put up a great fight against Goliath El Aynaoui. So, despite the result, I thought it was a great weekend...

About Kanaal 2. Is it really necessary to stop showing tennis for "Shocking USA"?????? Thank god for RTBF
And that commentator from Kanaal 2, I wonder in how many different ways he pronounced El Aynaoui?? 7? 8?

And can anyone tell me why the empire gave a point to Morocco on 6-5, deuce in the last set of El Aynaoui - Rochus?? Was it because the audience didn't behave or something? If so, that guy should be empire in Brazil one day!!

carot, I thought we were in a European group now? And didn't England join the world group this weekend (they won against Ecuador I think)?

Carot... I think you are wrong too. I think we are in the Afro-European group now (of subtoppers like they said on the radio).

Btw. England is like The Crow told back in the topgroup, so is Argentina.
I have no idea what happened to Chile...

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this board.
I went to the daviscup Belgium- Morocco on Sunday and I thought it was a really fantastic day! It was only the second time I went to a tennis event, first time was in Knokke this summer where Kim won her quarterfinal against Serna.
After the first set of the Malisse -Arazi match I was afraid the match would go exactly like the one on friday : always one break on his serve, but never take his chances on his opponent's serve, but then he started playing great tennis and the atmosphere in the crowd was just amazing! But the crowd got even louder in the match of Christophe. It was cool to see the other team members heat up the crowd and Christophe: Olivier always stood up and started clapping and the others and the crowd joined him, Xavier was bouncing against the plate with his shoes,.... I really think that Christophe could have won it when it came to a 5th set, it was so unfair when that referee overruled that fault Arazi serve at deuce: he was too late to overrule and El Aynaoui was even getting ready for his second serve when the overrule came, this got me really angry! I didn't like El Aynaoui at all : he was arrogant and had a really bad attitude, I think he sometimes deserved the boooing he got from the crowd; their coach was also pretty annoying sometimes.
All together I had a fantastic day, altough it would have been even more fantastic if we had won! I hope they can play in Belgium again really soon, because I wouldn't want to mis it.
Does anyone know how we exactly can get back in the worldgroup?

The Crow

Hi Belgiangirl!

Thanks for the report and it sounds like you had a great day

I think Belgium has to win their first match now and then they can play in the promotion/degradation matches (like the one of this weekend). So winning the next two matches brings them back, I think!

Welcome on the board, BelgianGirl!!

Great that you followed the match live!!! I watched everything on the television, and I hated El Aynaoui's attitude too.

I don't know how Belgium get's back in the top-group. I think it's like organised like a lil tournement. They first have to play one or more games (I don't know) against opponents of the same group, and the top 8 plays a game against the last 8 countries from the topgroup. That way they descide who goes through. Probably it are just two matches like The Crow says..
