Tomorrow at midday, venus_rulez and I will play tennis for the first time, some thing we have been talking about for at least two years!!!!

We will be playing at Melbourne Park, home to the Australian Open!!!!!!!!!! I've never ever played there!! He has though.

I'm so excited to finally play on these courts!! I'm hoping to throw in some SHOOs along with fist-pump-twirl-AJDEs. :bounce:

venus_rulez won today!
Somewhat closely contested match, level of play was club-like for the most part! We both found it hard to adjust to the surface... I have to step back more coz I'm used to clay.

We both wore blue to match the courts. :p

I broke venus_rulez in the opening game and felt pretty good, but before I knew it I was down 1-4. I was serving at 2-5 and was up 40-15 but he won 4 straight points to take the set! venus_rulez has a really nice spinning serve, and I found it hard to return with my craptastic backhand because I never ever bend my knees.

Second set was much better, I positioned myself better to return his serves, I served a bit better, and started striking the ball much better as opposed to into the net. We both hit some nice dropshots as well. All games went on serve until I broke for a 4-3 lead and I eventually closed the set out 6-4.

Third set was probably the best set of tennis in the match as we had adjusted even more (though it's still so weird thinking about it). I went down a break early and was very close to being down 0-3, but luckily I broke back with some nice forehands and everything went on serve until I was serving to stay in the match at 5-6, and I swear he hit some lucky shots! To bring up two MPs, he hit a FH DTL off his frame and judging by the loop I thought it was going out but it ended up catching the line! The highlight of this set for me was hitting a backhand top spin lob over him while he was at the net. :bounce:

The courts at Melbourne Park are pretty much like a slow hard court..... It's pretty fun, definitely would like to play more on it, but at $28 an hour, I'd think again. :p

What's plexicushion like?

Jun 9th, 2010, 10:22 AM
Need a shirtless photo of you both then I'll decide

What's plexicushion like?

The speed is inbetween hard court and clay court, the bounce is just like hardcourts :help:

Jeffery (venus_rulez) and I live on opposite sides of town so it costs $28 an hour because we just hire the courts. It was free when we played at St Christophers TC since I'm a member. :p
