Kleybanova lost the 1st set 6-2

The match is still going on.

If this had been posted by anyone else I wouldn't believe such dimwittedness was possible. But from thegreendestiny I hate to say it but I'm not even surprised.

Yes nobody cares because the majority of players worth caring about are all out of the tournament.

Actually I don't think you can call this a jinx thread. thegreendestiny is simply not clever enough to come up with such a thing.

Both looked absolutely exhausted by the end. Long, long rallies.
Carlita   Amazing tournament nonetheless!

Alisa :yeah:

Wow. Almost chocked it at the end. Looked very tired, probably will lose to Jankovic if she is really that tired.

Both had 78% of first serves in. Both won 108 points. Alisa 24 winners, 55 ue's... Carla 23 winners, 45 ue's. Insanely tough match finishing at like 1:15am.

She might not have enough in the tank at this point but she'll give 110% out there as always.
Quitting is just not in this woman's vocabulary seriously.

I better be.
It is 4:35 am on the east coast but I had a feeling that Kleybanova would figure out Carla sooner than later.
If the match was on clay that probably wouldn't have happened but Carla just wasn't able to stay consistent once big bitch Kleybanova started to pound some of those short balls.

I looked at the scoreboard at 62 42 and figured Alisa isnt steady enough.
But she is very close to breaking thru now as a top 10 player.
I think her game works best on grass. She hits extreme angles

Yeah- and that's nice. She plays some good tennis and deserves to have her share of fans. For myself, I've watched her play 4 or 5 times now and while I don't like everything about her game, in the main I've liked what I've seen. Too bad my livestream wouldn't work for this match.

She might not have enough in the tank at this point but she'll give 110% out there as always.
Quitting is just not in this woman's vocabulary seriously.

And I think that's one of the things that might win more people over to her. Sure sometimes her shot selection is :help: when she loses patience or is pressing too hard, but at least this is a young player who isn't afraid of victory. Win or lose, at this point she's fought hard. Also nice to see no-one currently harping on about her fitness.

I looked at the scoreboard at 62 42 and figured Alisa isnt steady enough.
But she is very close to breaking thru now as a top 10 player.

Agreed. I also think that her intensity and the consistency of her shot-making is unreliable. Still, I recall that she played one very good set of tennis against Venus using her hard serve and also troubling her at the net. I think that whichever top player draws her at Wimbledon this year, may need to be on their guard and turn up with the their best tennis.
