can someone please explain why Lindsay Davenport is the #2 seed? I thought her protected seeding in tournaments ended a month ago?
Oct 8th, 2002, 08:34 PM
She's 'earned' her higher seeding, and thus it will be kept in place for now.
Oct 8th, 2002, 08:35 PM
Lindsay is special!
Anyway who'd argue with her?
Oct 8th, 2002, 11:25 PM
What do you mean she "earned" it?? As in, the WTA has decided her level of play merits a higher ranking than she currently holds?? Couldn't the same be argued of other players?
Oct 10th, 2002, 10:00 PM
Dont argue with Lindsay seeding if you dont want your fave to be out in early rounds.
Lindsay always lives to her seeding!!!!!!

"Dont argue with Lindsay seeding if you dont want your fave to be out in early rounds."
and that helps answer my question???
Oct 11th, 2002, 01:36 PM
exactly... Lindsay is special and will always be seeded at least 4th...
Oct 11th, 2002, 02:17 PM
Whether Davenport is seeded or not, she will still win the tourney :p ;)
Go Davenport and Mauresmo :bounce:

Martina withdrew so Myskina is #8.

At Least Jelena will get an easier player who hasnt already won a match.
