Serena, Monika and Mary withdrew. That leaves Iva as the first in line now. And I think I've read somewhere that Daja Bedanova is injured, so that would do it.

Too bad about the injuries though. Mary and Monika, esp...

Hopefully she will strut herself and play some good tennis finally, I hate when she loses matches she should have won.

STOP PARTYING THAT MUCH, IVA! ;)

I don't think that getting into the main draw without qualifying is such a good idea. If she is in qualifying, she will probably gets a couple of wins under her belt and some confidence. Then again, it will really hurt her if she loses in the qualies.

There's always a chance for a wildcard too! I really don't want Iva to play qualis, I'd like to see her get into the Main Draw directly and get a few wins there. Iva has been playing Zurich since 1993!!! She must really love this tourni since it was the first one she ever won in her career!!! They would be crazy not to give a former champion a WC!!!!

Here's her results at Zurich:

1993
32 W Katarina STUDENIKOVA (SVK) 7-5 6-3
16 L Nathalie TAUZIAT (FRA) 3-6 4-6

nope, the first was Filderschtad. She won them back to back. :)
Hey, has anyone else done that? Won back to back tournies as their first? (I'm pretty sure they were her first...)

Iva drew a qualifier 1st round which could be tricky since the qualis are very tough here. Hopefully, she can get by that match and then upset Myskina or Clijsters!!!! Go IVA!!!!
