Why isn't Justine there, she owned the tourny before she retired. Dubai was to her what Miami is to Serena. hopefully Venus defends her title.

I heard somewhere that if Justine played in Dubai she'd get a ranking back and would thus be forced to play both Indian Wells and Miami. She never seemed to like playing in Miami and often missed it so by waiting till Indian Wells, she will remain without a ranking long enough to avoid being forced into Miami. I don't know if this is true but I read that somewhere:confused:
