Remember, every choice, whether good or bad, can be deadly...

Suicide Bogota 2010

2009 Final: Hurley (USA) def. Michael 21 (AUS)
2008: Day One Mass Suicide

1. Each day of play, you must pick 1 winner playing a WTA main draw singles match. (READ: DO NOT PICK A MATCH FROM THE QUALIFYING DRAW!). Of course, the player that you choose, is playing one match scheduled to be played that day (as seen on the order of play).

2. Once you pick someone, you cannot choose them again for the rest of the tournament. So, you don't want to waste a pick on Kim Clijsters or Justine Henin in the early rounds. Conversely, you don't want to make a pick at all on Nicole Vaidisova. Has-beens are not hot.

3. You must choose one player to win each day. If you forget, are sick, or are unable to reach a computer, it will be treated as a wrong pick, and you will be out of the tournament. As well, your pick must be chosen before the pick's match has commenced, otherwise it will be considered a wrong pick, and thus you will again, be out of the tournament.

4. In the case of a walkover, or a withdrawal, each player is allowed to have a back-up pick, selected at the same time as their initial pick. That back-up pick will only be used in the occurence of a walkover or withdrawal, as stated above. Retirements do count as completed matches.

Replacement picks must be identitified like this:

BACK-UP PICK - "Slammin" Sammy Stosur

If it is not clearly identitified, then both picks will be declared invalid.

5. There are no Byes in this International event.

6. To sign up, please type the word "In". Variations are more than acceptable. Your sign up will be confirmed when you post your picks on the first day of main draw play, and so it is not necessarily a "must" to sign in.

7. Please be advised that you may only play ONE Suicide Tennis tournament per week. If you play in multiple tournaments per week, you will be given a score of ZERO for the week to go into your ranking.

8. Once you've post your pick it's final, you CAN'T change them.
So don't edit or delete your post or else you will be DISQUALIFIED!

Day 6 Statistics
Most Picked: Duque Marino (1)
Best Pick: A day of upsets has seen the two lesser ranked players defeat those favoured to make the final... Unfortunately that has finished our event with the last remaining competitor having No Pick on the final day!!!
Challengers Out: 0
Challengers Remaining: 1 (0 with Day 7 Pick)
Suicide Player of the Day: The "Big Things come in Samll Packages" Award - Everyone: I am actually suprise that SO MANY people have entered this year... With Dubai being played and with Memphis having bigger stars it is nice to know that there are some people out there dedicated to Minnie Mouse tournament like Bogota!!!

Day 5 Statistics
Most Picked: Parmentier (2), Kerber (1)
Best Pick: Kerber - Not only was this the only correct pick of the day, but it was the pick that won the tournament and has set up Nadjagina to gain over 200 ranking points...
Challengers Out: 3
Challengers Remaining: 1
Suicide Player of the Day: The "You Little Champion" Award - Nadjagina: When a lot of people choose to play Dubai, Nadjagina choose to play the smaller lesser known tournament here at Bogota... Congratulations to the Champion of the "LITTLE" title this week...

Day 3 and 4 Statistics
Most Picked: Kerber(3), Zakopalova (3)
Best Pick: Parmentier - With an easy win, those who pick her were quite safe... and next faces the 5th seed Kerber...
Challengers Out: 2
Challengers Remaining: 4
Suicide Player of the Day: The "Risky Business" Award - Andiyan: This player has made the first real 'risky' pick of the tournament, picking Castano over Parmentier... Even with a previous win in their only encounter Castano isnt what you'd call a sure bet and as such was the first person to eliminate a player form this tourament...

Day 2 Statistics
Most Picked: Mayr (6)
Best Pick: Mayr - Just for the obvious reason that she was the only one picked... but could she go on and win the title???
Challengers Out: 0
Challengers Remaining: 6
Suicide Player of the Day: The "Bandwagoners" Award - Everyone: Never (unless there has been only a couple of people left on the final day) have I every witnessed such a game of 'Follow the Leader'...

Day 1 Statistics
Most Picked: Cetkovska (4), Zahlavova (2)
Best Pick: Zahlavova - For only losing 5 games to go through to the second round...
Challengers Out: 0
Challengers Remaining: 6
Suicide Player of the Day: The "Maria Sharapova" Award - James: This is the highest ranked player to disregard Dubai and come to this smaller tournament... Much like Sharapova in Memphis this week!!!
