Melanie seems to be on track after a little MJF encouragement.

I expected a much bigger battle against Patty.

Good win!

Agnes should beat her tomorrow, this surface really seems to suit her game.
Good to see Patty back-I'm sure she wasn't expecting great results right away.

Losing to Oudin is embarrassing.

Which means you're lucky you'll never play against her :).

Why are people here always assuming that one player must have played like absolute crap, instead of considering the possibility that maybe (just maybe!) the other player stepped it up and simply outplayed her opponent? I bet most posters haven't even seen this match. Oudin is young and has had some good results in the past. I don't see how her beating Schnyder can only be accounted on Schnyder playing bad.

I agree. She is already 2-0 against both Hantuchova and Bartoli. And so far in her young career she has wins over:
Maria Sharapova
Ana Ivanovic
A. Radwanska
Lucie Safarova
Schiavone

Huh? Oudin does not have wins against Hantuchova, Bartoli, Ivanovic, Aga Radwanska, Safarova, or Schiavone.

Actually, Melanie has a nice little game. She doesn't really have one shot that is overpowering and definitely needs to work on her serve but she has good defense and awareness of the court. I hope she continues to improve. I like her spunk. She really should've won that first round match at the Australian Open.
