well done Maggie, Venus you will bounce back, it is tough to play a player you dun like playing in the first match

At the start Maggie played good and Venus as she usually plays at he start; as the 1. set progressed, Venus started to play good (not fantastic, unbeatable, but very good - it looked like she will win easy, especially since Maggie started to make mistakes).

In the second set Maggie played really fantastic and Venus played OK at first and then started to make all those mistakes - but her serve was good all the match - some double faults, but a lot of aces. Venus didn't play BAD bad, but she didn't play good.

That continued in the third set and then Venus played some good points, Maggie some bad mistakes and Venus got a break back and held her serve. Next couple of games Venus played good and Maggie great and both held.

In the tie break both lost their serves at first but then Maggie held - Venus made mistakes (but not huge, just a little and Maggie used them). Venus started to look really not like herself and even screamed really loud in frustration (I don't know what she said) when she made a mistake (I think volley in the net).

I would say it's more mental after having lost all these matches to her.... after all, Shaughnessy's taken a number of sets off Dechy so she has the ability. i would hazard a guess and say that in their earlier matches Dechy was just either a little more lucky than Shaughnessy OR really just the mentally tougher player on the important points.... now that Shaughnessy's lost to her 8 straight, it's a mental thing (like Seles to Hingis before) and the self belief probably isn't there when the important points come rolling by - and probably add the frustration because if Shaughnessy's losing to someone who is far and away better than her, then it's easier for her to accept whereas when she's losing to someone all the time who is probably of the same ability, then she must be certainly be wondering why...

Is this a dream come true?!?!?! Amanda, Maggie, Maja, Nathalie and Bovina(or Elena D, I like both) ALL in the Quarters?!?!?! This is amazing, what a great tourney!(Screw you Marti, it would have been magnificent had you been there:p;))
