With all due respect to the WHO, but the show has no energy.

This is trully post-Miachel Jackson

The crowd loved it, as far as I could tell. I loved it too :)

Good for you.

I did not hear much audience participation.

The lead singer was planted at the same spot.

The visual did not connect with the people in the stand.
Now that is not the band's fault... but still

You must have horrible audio if you couldn't hear the entire crowd singing

The HEW????:tape:

At least my dad liked it. I only like the lightings. It's like a spaceship.

Who cares about the half-time?

The commercials are blowing major chunks.

I thought The Who--or what's left of it--were pretty good but definitely showing their age.

Of course, they're hardly the only ones...;)

It was horrible, thank God for Tivo.

No. It was hardly audible, and the crowd could not be seen.

Another poster said s/he only like the lights. Why, because there was no people to be seen.
The people were in the dark, not other acts on stages.

I think superbowl is as much about visual as audio.

Roger Daltrey could not move despite the big stage.
The stransition between songs was not smooth.

This is a band which has a long reputation of outstanding live performances, but I am afraid age has caugth up with them.

well he is pretty old.

i say give the man a break. it was still a good performence. not epic or mind boggling, but still good. i mean shit would you rather have ke$ha up there raping our ears with her live singing?

The music was fantastic, it still endures. Singing was awful, but the guy is old.

The music at the Superbowl to me, is how it was sung, not how we remember it
Everybody knows the Who have an impressive repertoire of songs made popular by the live performance of the band.

And they did not come thru today. Hence my disappointment

only a fool expects the Who to perform now like they did 40 years ago.

yeah seriously enough with the old acts  It wasn't the worst ever, but The Who have lost it. Ever since Janet's 2004 episode we've had: McCartney, Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty, Springsteen and now The Who. I would like a non-geriatric performer next year :p

Get a better TV or sound system. It was VERY clear that the audience was singing

I love The Who's music, as in the 60's vid below. But this show was embarrassing. Roger Daltrey (the one with the curly hair) simply can't sing anymore. I agree with Sally about these bookings of acts who could have played @ Super Bowl I (in early 1967). Or use their recorded voices from whenever.

I don't care for rap personally, but I do think when it comes to rap, there is no difference between middle amerca youth and urban youth.

Who do you think is the biggest consummer of rap?
I never hear country music at college parties. Do you?

If you want actual warm bodies for your halftime show, watch MLS Cup.

They've had Christina Aguilera, Our Lady Peace, Michelle Branch, Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World and a bunch of band I never heard of because I'm old but my sons knew who they were. Although this year's Guitar Hero shootout was kind of lame.

Exactly. That shit was boring and ALL of the Super Bowl acts since Janet-Justin have been horrible. They need to stop catering to certain people and actually get some artists that can keep us awake during half-time,

I liked it, but I'm in my early 40s. Considering their age, they did very well, and it was entertaining to me, at least.

I thought Prince was lame by Prince standards, though okay given he's not that much less of a geezer than Roger and Pete. I think some people dogging the Who wouldn't have liked 'em in '73, arguably the height of their powers.

Honestly, I though Springsteen did one of the best shows, and I can't stand his mumbling, power-chording overrated ass.

Well the fact that you think Prince's music is anything like Janet's music only shows your lack of knowledge.

You know The Who's original motto was "Maximum R&B."

See how definitions, like opinions, are subject to change?

Can we all just agree if they're going to get an old dude next year, it needs to be George Clinton?

Aside Kiss because Tom Jones made a version of that song , I don´t know so much about Prince .lol

In Latin America Prince is not well known. Janet either I'd say

A band like Iron Maiden fills a 70 000 persons stadium in Chile and Beyoncé presents her show in a 10 000 persons of capacity arena. We don´t love pop music that much , it seems
