Shvedova plays for Kazakhstan

She won her title while playing under Russian tricolour. Likewise, I do not count the Likhovtseva's first title won back in 1993, when she was still playing for Kazakhstan. Anything won with (RUS) next to player's name in the original tournament's draw is counted here.

That I am bumping this thread for the first time in what - 8 months - is an evidence of our decline.

But..

Vivat Maria :)You were right to bump this thread. You forsaw what was coming from Maria Sharapova. You ys are the Nostradomus of WTA World. ;) But you are also correct about the decline of the Russina's. I think they put so much into their careers, training and practices that after so many years they get burned out and beaten up physically and psychologically. I mean Sharapova asnd Svetlana Kuxnetsova should be really good for a couple more years but Svetlana has slipped alot recently and is ranked in the 20's. Scary. And Vera Zvonareva has fallen off the tennis cliff. :(

Well, this was meant to be Russian titles thread. For doubles , more than often than not, teams are international. Feel free to create a thread yourself though..
