In applying the tie-breaking procedures, a conduct default or retirement shall count as a straight-set win or loss. However, games won or lost in matches with a defaulting or retiring player shall not be counted in the application of the percentage of games won method.

There is a thing a 24 hour injuries like cramps or muscle contractions, like Serena had in Wimbledon 2008.

It is possible, you have daily injuries, short time injuries and long time injuries.

She was warned, the exact words were :

You can play, but be carefull, it could threaten your career.

That didn't say she wasn't allowed to play, a player can always decide whether they wanna continue after injury or not, they can only be advised. Unless it's about fractures or bone disalocations.

If they would said, no serena you can't play, most mens matches wouldn't even finish, they get contantly on clay. lol

What? When did her back get this bad? I hope she'll be fully healthy for AO.

She's had it for 3 months, she was advised to take a break for USO but you know how competitive Dina is :awww:  I'm personally not gonna be optimistic for AO.

A hollow victory for Jelena but still on course to qualify now lol.
I loved it when she corrected the interviewer, 'this is my 3RD YEC' and 'no im NOT playing great tennis all the time' :wavey: :yeah:
I feel sorry for Safina but might be a blessing in disguise for her and may come back stronger.

So Dina turns up, takes the 100k and runs  Don't blame her tbh...just play a couple of games and take the huge amount of money, not bad!

And JJ gets a straight sets win from playing 2 games!

Safina admitted after the match that she's been playing with pain killers for weeks just for the sake of hanging on to #1 world rankings. What goes around comes around. She should learn to know about the big picture.

:sobbing: :bigcry:

Hopefully Vera can defend at least some of her points. Nightmare for one and dream for another :hysteric: No two of my faves can ever co-exist happily.

Poor Dina:sad: You could visibly see something was wrong with her movement in these recent horrible performances, and to think that she had to endure all the crap from the media and so called "experts" of the game is even more saddening...
