Oh no!

Lindsay has withdrawn from the Sanex Final with a knee injury.
According to what i read on UK teletext she pulled out with a knee injury she had picked up in the semi-finals yesterday and it may hinder her preparation for the Aussie Open.

Aaw well, at least she is NUMBER 1 in the WORLD! The title would've been icing on the cake.

MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) - World No. 1 Lindsay Davenport 's season ended on a sad note Sunday when injury forced her to pull out of the final of the WTA Championships.

Davenport, who returned to No. 1 and made sure of ending the year in top spot by beating Kim Clijsters in the semifinals, was due to play fellow American Serena Williams in the final of the season-ending event, scheduled for 1300 GMT.

She informed tournament officials that she had felt pain in her troublesome right knee at the end of her match against Belgian Clijsters Saturday and could not play.

``I can't tell you how bad I feel,'' said Davenport, who was sidelined by a knee injury for two-and-a-half months earlier in the season.

``It's the worst possible way to end the season. It's almost impossible for me to walk. I won't be able to do anything for a month.''
What a horrible end to a fantastic season!

Too bad

I don't understand why they're talking about the Aus Open, that is months away. But if it is the same injury, then it could be quite serious indeed.

At least her winning streak keeps going. No one has beaten her indoors this season and she's no.1

Get well soon lindsay!!
