She is 17, the same age Maria was when she made her run at Wimby.

Very entertaining match between the youngster and the veteran fighter.

Ironically, Oudin reminds many of Sharapova's fighting spirit

Veteran? :confused:

I heard someone call Peer the same thing in a highlights vid on the USO site.

Players in their early twenties are not veterans. :shrug:

I think of veterans as players who have been playing for a lot longer than 8 years. :shrug: With most players starting their senior careers when they're around 16, that means that by the time they're 24 they're a veteran? :confused:

What are the 28-30 year olds, then? Dinosaurs? :lol:;)

...and last year. 22 year olds are hardly veterans.

Sharapova was ranked much higher at the start of Wimbledon 2004 with a ranking of #15. Oudin was ranked #70 at the start of the US Open 2009.

when you have 300+ tour wins you are a veteran

:sad: Oudin probably deserves this match against a Sharapova who can't serve, can't return, can't run, and can't move forward...

Did you navigate all the way to the WTA tour site to look up Sharapova's wins just to post this? :tape:

I wouldn't say tired. She just looks desperate to get something going. Oudin is so damn fiesty, staying in EVERY point.

Sharapova doesn't really have any weather excuses. :lol:

Already knew it.....Maria was top 10 for the good part of 5 years..... you dont get that by not winning matches.... I have a good idea of where the good players are in match wins....

Venus= 500+
Henin= just under 500
Serena about 400 i believe
Davenport 600+ if not 7....
Amelie 500+

Let the record show that I first used the term Houdini to play on Melanie's last name and her victory,

Mary Carillo just used it.
