On ESPN, the tournament referee said they were hopeful there will be clearing for a few hours later today to get the matches in. There's 100% chance of rain tomorrow :rolls: But, he also mentioned they have new indoor courts at the facility with the exact same court composition so they will definitely finish on time one way or another.

The revised order of play had the doubles matches starting at 3:30 on the indoors court and Caro's match starting at not before 4:30. Unfortunately Caro's match isn't on the scoreboard and the doubles matches aren't on the scoreboard either.

Is there no live scoring indoors?

Clearing the court

Shortly after 5 p.m., workers brought out the process of trying to get Stadium Court ready for play by squigeeing off the excess water.

That is the first step to make the court playable, a process than takes about an hour (assuming there is no additional rain).

Stay tuned.

Llagostera Vives/Martinez Sanchez won 6-3 6-3 against Craybas/Raymond according to the completed scores at the Wta website.

I never saw that match on my scoreboard so I guess there is indeed no live scoring indoors, so I hope they play the singles matches outdoors cuz it would suck to only get a final score. :(

Looks like they just finished vacuuming the court for water at this live stream: http://www.fromsport.com/video-64555.html
No spectators yet it seems. Maybe they all went home in the rain.
Or maybe it started raining again? Impossible to tell from this live stream.

Women's matches going indoors

With the rain continuing the fall, the women's singles semifinal matches at the Pilot Pen Tennis tournament have been moved inside to the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

The Caroline Wozniacki/Flavia Pennetta match will begin not before 7 p.m. while the Amelie Mauresmo/Elena Vesnina match will follow the men's doubles semifinal between the teams of Martin Damm/Robert Lindstedt and Bruno Soares/Kevin Ullyett. That match won't start before 7:30 p.m.

No decision has been made on the men's semifinal matches.

Details on ticket exchanges from the canceled afternoon session and whether they will allowed into the indoor court are still being worked out.

No. :fiery: They just said they are going to show a McEnroe match from 1981. :help: They could at least show a match from this century. :tape: Awful. It's not like it's never rained before. Would it kill ESPN to take a tripod and show the match that is going on indoors? I wonder if the live scoreboard will at least work? :(

So they must play on two indoor courts? If the WTA match is set to not before 7 pm and the ATP match is set to start ½ hour later.

ESPN clarified that. Momo/Elena match goes on right after Caro/Flavia match. I think there are, like 8 indoor courts, so they could have two matches going on at the same time ;)

Doubles - Semi-finals
J Knowle (AUT) / J Melzer (AUT) d M Melo (BRA) / A Sa (BRA) 64 75

How hard can it be to move the livescore indoor? Isn't it just a matter of bringing a laptop along?

It was awful. The people there told us nothing and we don't know what refund we are getting either.
The indoor courts are a joke, there is only standing room and there's not much of that either.

Why can't this type of information be found on the official tournament website as the first thing http://www.pilotpentennis.com
Instead we have to rely on some tennis journalist blog to get up to date weather and rescheduling reports.
There has been a very poor information-level from all the US Open series websites. All looks but very little content behind the facade. Very few news stories and updates and the results of the last matches each night aren't put into the draw schedule until the next day instead of right after the match like they ought to be.
And now the tournamnet/WTA aren't even capable of bringing live scores just because they move indoor. And no TV coverage either.

Yes, we did, but the forecast is even worse for tomorrow. Plus, we had day and night session-we sat for 7 hours in the rain and decided to leave at 5 pm. Now they are playing the matches we were supposed to see.

Maybe they just agreed to flip a coin for the victory instead of for the right to choose serve and court half; to get done this long day of waiting.
With no TV coverage, live score or room for spectators nobody would notice anyway.

Wozniacki into final

Defending champion Caroline Wozniacki defeated Flavia Pennetta 6-4, 6-1 in the first women's singles semifinal to advance to her second straight Pilot Pen final.

Elena Vesnina is leading Amelie Mauresmo 5-4 in the first set in the other semifinal.

The men's semifinals are still officially planning to be played on Stadium Court although it should be noted that the tournament workers are not working on drying the court at the present time so take that for what it is worth.
