"The draw for the Us Open was done today. I was on the plane when they did it and we saw it WHILE flying in ESPN. That´s amazing! Anyways, I´m 23rd seed & I´ll play against Rezai in my first round. Not sure when I´ll play yet but will keep u posted. :)"

Sabine has changed her serve motion.
Its lot like Maria's. Half back swing.
Unfortunately, Sabine said in her interview that it doesn't feel natural.
Also, her DF problem is still there. 13 right now and counting.
And the worst part, she isn't really going for big serves anymore. Just 2 aces thus far.

Wow. It's so hard to be her fan. Just when you think she's fine to play again, something else happens. I just can't imagine how hard it can be for her. What a sad way to end her US Open run. I hope that it was just painful when it happened and that she'll be okay and ready to play again soon  .

How come after Sabine went down and started screaming in pain, nobody rushed in to help?
2 line judges just stood there watching her in pain. It seemed like couple of minutes went by before the umpire came down to her.
And there was Nasty Nastya, went over to Sabine's side to take a look and decided she couldn't be bothered?

I can´t believe the conduct anti sports of Rodionova, taking his match colleague lying on the floor, wasnt able to go to ask how they felt, only likes to win and talk to the press, signing autographs, taking with Sabine on the floor . It seems very unprofessional attitude

It took a minute and a half for someone to wake up and take her some ice! There's no excuse for that at a major! :help:

Poor Sabine .

Fabrice had a similar situation earlier this year against Ljubicic when Ivan twisted his ankle and because he is so experienced and knowledgeable, he thought fast and immediately grabbed some ice and ran over to Ljubicic to help him, he even untied his shoe for him etc, not caring about the rule about not going to the other side. It took Fabrice less than half a second to realise what he needed to do, he was moving so fast he was practically jumping over the net. It was unfortunate that this did not happen for Sabine. The umpire should have asked a ball boy or girl to bring ice to Sabine while they were waiting for a trainer.

slk45
Sep 4th, 2009, 03:45 AM
Same thing with Vera Zvonareva and Mary Pierce at Linz 2006. Mary fell screaming in pain, and Vera was the first one there with ice within about 30 seconds.

Incomprehensible why it took so long for Sabine to get help.

cosmoose
Sep 4th, 2009, 03:58 AM
What is wrong with this picture?
1 minute after Sabine fell, she is still without ice pack!
All the line judges, ball boys, and US Open officials are just standing around?
It would be another minute before Sabine's dad manages to come down from the stand and bring ice.
Meanwhile, Rodiobitch is taking bows. :fiery:

Nice to hear that the injury seems to be not THAT serious :) Should take a break for a few weeks which should also be not bad for her shoulder.

RagingBull99
Sep 5th, 2009, 09:56 PM
Good news. Looks like its not serious at all. But even with 1 leg she should have won that 3rd set against Rodionova. First that horrible Tie-Break against Rezai, then losing a 5-2 lead in the third set. Seems that only her serve can save her from choking.

Sep 8th, 2009, 02:43 AM
The MRI came back clean for Germany's Sabine Lisicki, who had to be taken off the court on a wheelchair after spraining her ankle on the last point of her second-round loss to Anastasia Rodionova. Her agent, Olivier Van Lindonk, said Lisicki should be back on tour in about three weeks

So she should be back in Tokyo. :D

But honestly i'm more disappointed about that she couldn't convert those match points. Bondarenko in the third round, Dulko in the fourth round, Wickmayer in the quarterfinal and Wozniacki or Oudin in the semis. Was it ever easier to go to a grand slam final.
That was just a great opportunity to have a very good run at the US Open even with her kind of form after her shoulder injury.
