Hi ! Well, I decided to create my first cheering thread ever. This is a thread to support young chineses players Saisai Zheng and Haochen Tang. Most of you will ask "Who are they?" I also made that question to myself a few days ago :lol: But looking for them in the Internet, found they are 15 years old, and that they are doing quite well in their junior careers. Saisai just beat Haochen in 3 tough sets on a 10K semifinal, and will play today her first ITF final ever in her only 3rd ITF ever (only 2nd 10K). Last week, she played a 25K in Xiamen, where she crushed the Q draw before losing in R2 to #1 seed and Top 200 player Han Xinyun. Actually, she will play today against Sharipova to win a 10K in Shenzhen. In these 3 ITFs she played, she has 11 wins and 2 losses.

In juniors, Saisai has won 27 matches, while only losing 6 this year, with a record of 16 wins in a row. Also 33 wins and 7 losses in her career.

Haochen has played just 2 ITFs already, reaching SF in one of them (this week). In Juniors, Haochen has not lost a match this year, with a 17 matches winning streak. In her career, just 20 wins and 2 losses.

I think we will have to keep an eye on these players. Maybe they will become the truly GOATs. Time will say :) I hope this thread bringes them good luck :kiss:

Both are only 15...

Best guess is that next year they will play major junior tournaments (grand slams), WTA China events, and some Chinese 10k and 25k tournaments. 2011 they will probably make switch to pro level.

It's too early to say if they will make it to WTA tour level, but their results are very encouraging :)

Of course the CTA doesn't always take the conventional approach :lol:

The girls will be back in action this week at the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championship in Florida. This is HUGE tournament and will be very tough, but hopefully they can make some surprises. :)

Zi Yang and Di Zhao will also be in the MD of the tournament.

Haochen told me that she arrived at the US 2 days ago, and she hopes to do well there!

i watched it on t.v, juju's a bad match up to little jie, jie's low flat balls didnt challenge juju at all like she did to the tall players. but juju's serves very powerful for a short woman. tennis, this sports not fair to the asian players anyway... imo... wta 80% relied on the serves. :o

Her result can only be seen as a huge positive! She's 15 and almost beat a near top-200 WTA player who is 2 years older! It's really amazing! And nobody could have predicted this before the tournament started.

I have however had better success in doubles. I play with my Chinese partner Saisai Zheng, whom I've played with many times before. We complement each other very well. My heavy groundstrokes and my surprisingly good kick-serve and Saisai's superb net game has brought us to the semifinals - to be played tomorrow [ie. today, Friday].

Ouch! A bad scoreline but Zheng/Grage still had a very good tournament.

Their opponents were too good. Sloane Stephens is a really good player - she has started playing on the WTA tour and just barely lost to Zvonareva in Round 2 @ Indian Wells earlier this year! Mai Grage says that she and Saisai Zheng quite simply were up against a much better team today. Good luck in the future!
