Welcome to the Australian Open - the first Grand Slam of Season 6! Our first 20 Grand Slams have been won by 17 different women, which shows the great depth we have here on the OWTT Tour. Will we get another repeat winner, or will a new Slam champ come to the fore once again? The warm-up events were won by the world’s top 2 players Daniela Hantuchova and Venus Williams.
Defending champ and #2 seed Venus won in Sydney and will be confident of defending her title, whereas Hantuchova will have to pick up her game after a disappointing early loss last week.
We are hoping to see season debuts from Molik, Davenport and Kournikova as well although their participation is still in doubt.
Aleksandra Wozniak from Canada suffered a a difficult lost today at Melbourne Park. After loosing the first,Aleks stepped it up and took the second 6-2 showin she could play and compete against great players. After the first game of the third set. Aleksandra called the trainer claiming a left thigh injury. She decided to continue considering she was leading 1-0 with a break. Unfortunately her movement were so bad she was able to win only one more game on Zvonareva's serve (she made 4 DF in this game  ) Aleksandra now looks forward to taking these two weeks off and hopefully comeback and win it all. "I feel like my game is improving and I just ran into bad luck. Also is it me or my opponent hit a lot of lucky shot... Anyways, My goal for this season is nontheless to win a title and beat that F****** Hantuchova!" Wozniak will now be heading to La Ville Lumière on an indoor surface. She will be joined by a new hitting partner, Serena Williams.
Well does it look like I'm at full speed yet? I haven't performed like I should perform just yet, but I'm sure my full speed will be back soon to boom the top 10.
How do you plan on doing that?
Well look at the tour, it's really a bigger mess than Serena's hair-do. No No, Me and my coach have been working on some new techniques, and you know, it will be mind-blowing. I even asked the power-rangers to help me out
Do you cope training differently now that Justine is gone?
Well yes, there aren't any hands *cough* *cough* bars to be raised in terms of game-play. The only battle you have to play, each day, is, yourself, so that would mean, me.
Do you feel you have a chance at the AO?
Well yes I have 50% to win my next match and then I'll have 50% again, and so on... If I didn't have a chance, I wouldn't be competing for one extra million.

Congratulations on your success at this years Australian Open.
Thank you.! I am so happy to finally have some success at the Grand Slam level. I have had some problems with consistency and I hope that might be behind me.
Any comments on your fellow semi-finalists?
Well, unlike some of the other girls on tour I try to keep my comments clean and not resort to name calling...unless provoked. But you know, some girls are really immature or lack self-confidence so they resort to such behaviour.
Safarova - she's a good ball basher and has good results when she does this
Davenport - it's great she can still get out on court and grind it out. you can hear her bones creaking when she's swinging and it makes me nervous.
Hantuchova - she has been a great #1 but I was shocked to hear her comments about the other girls on tour. She's always been staring at my breasts and now with her comments her behaviour makes somes sense.
Any comments you'd like to make to Hantuchova?
Bitch, I DO have big breasts! Would you stop staring at them - you're making me nervous. Maybe she's just interested because she doesn't see breasts when she looks down. Maybe she wants to mow my lawn? Now I'm worried I'll be so self conscious with my ample boobage during our semi-final...
Congrats to Davenport who reclaims the title she won here 3 seasons ago. She was somewhat of an unknown quantity coming into this tournament as she had skipped the YEC last season and missed the tune-up events for the Aussie Open but that didn't seem to hinder her at all. After a nervous first set, Davenport really turned her game around and took it to Tulyaganova who also had a great tournament and will crack the Top 10 next week. Davenport improves to #3.
