Safina is making very few errors and destroying a lot of second serves.

Pavly in the second set epitomises what is wrong with women's tennis - refusal to change tactics and do anything different. Pavly was playing a better version of herself, but still tried to outhit Safina. Not gonna work.

Amazing ball striking & timing, her movement and serve were great also! :worship: Playing like the #1, only dropped 4 games so far :speakles:

Nastya hit more winners than UE and lost 1st set 2-6

After watching this match...I've changed my mind. I don't want Ana to play her. That was downright scary. Pavly did well to make the first few games close and to save the match points with spectacular winners. But Dinara was scary. Cracking winners left and right. Very few errors and ran VERY fast.

Safina is amazing right now.

It's such a shame that Dinara, Vika, Ana, and Carla are all so close in this shitty draw :o

You've gotta believe. Aravane's got a bigger game than Dinara has seen so far. I'm not going to say that I think Aravane is the favorite, but the way she is playing, she has a chance. Plus, she is match-tough, having had to fight her way through some tough spots. I'm not sure Dinara's had to break a sweat yet. I think it will be closer than people think.

Clijsters was rolling at the AO in '07, hardly losing any games, and then as the tournament went on, and she encountered better opponents, she looked more and more vulnerable until Maria tore her a new one in the SF. Not saying it will happen here, but I do think Aravane will give her a battle.

Anastasia was embarrasingly bad in the second set and very one dimensional. I know shes only 17 but he's got a lot of work to do if she's going to become a top 10 player in the future. A bit of variety wouldn't be a bad idea.
