We love you  Get better, and kick some ass. You deserve it, and your hard work will pay off eventually. Just keep fighting, and keep believing in yourself. You just showed that you could wipe the floor with a top 5 player on your least favorite surface. And your favorite half of the season has yet to begin. You're gonna do it!

P.S. I don't know why I'm writing this as if she'd actually read it, but I just needed to vent.

Love her so much <3 AJDE!

We love you Jelena, and you've made us proud once again. Get well soon, and have that back ready for grass season. And once again, no pressure. You *are* one of the best, just play plenty of matches, get into a rythm and you'll see the results coming. ;)

Someone should really forward these and similar messages to her.

PARIS: Tennis comeback queen Jelena Dokic is expected to bounce back from the excruciating back injury that cruelly forced her out of the French Open.

The Australian saw doctors in Paris on Friday after injuring her lower back the previous day when she led by a set and was dominating her second-round match against Russian world No. 4 Elena Dementieva at Roland Garros.

Dokic, 26, underwent treatment on her back and an MRI scan to determine whether the injury could spell the end of the former world No. 4's comeback dreams.

But her management said the doctors believed Dokic would suffer no permanent damage.

"It's a day-by-day process at the moment," the spokesman said. "But we don't believe it will be anything long-term."

Dokic 'right' to play Wimbledon warm-ups

JELENA Dokic's recovery from the back injury that forced her French Open retirement will keep her off the practice court until the end of the week, but is unlikely to thwart the Australian's plans to contest Wimbledon lead-up tournaments at Birmingham and Eastbourne this month.

Dokic's agent, Lawrence Frankopan, said the world No. 80 expected to be able to play in both WTA grasscourt events as scheduled, having been cleared of permanent lower-back damage by an MRI scan after her second-round mishap against fourth seed Elena Dementieva in Paris.

A Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2000, Dokic will be returning to the All England Club for the first time since 2004. Her most recent qualifying attempt, at Roehampton in 2006, produced a first-round loss to Alexandra Stevenson.

Dokic's win-loss record of 17-6 at Wimbledon is her best at a grand slam, despite the 26-year-old also reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and, this year, in Melbourne.

Jelena Dokic has confirmed she will play in qualifying for the AEGON International at Eastbourne this weekend.

Dokic's career has gone into freefall since reaching a career high of fourth in the world rankings in 2002.

Problems with her controversial father Damir - who was also her coach - saw her drop out of the top 600 in 2006 but she has since climbed back to 75 after a sensational run to the quarter-finals as a wildcard at the Australian Open.

Dokic was forced to retire during her second round clash with Elena Dementieva at the French Open last week due to a back injury but has been practising at Devonshire Park this week and has been passed fit to play.

The 26-year-old spent part of the morning on Monday 15th June on the practice courts and then lent her support to ailing Serbia starlet Ana Ivanovic on Centre Court.

I wish they would stop referring to her as "troubled tennis player" all the time.
Its a shame she decided not to play this week because with all the videos of her looking healthy on the practice court makes you think that maybe Jelena was being a little over-cautious. I think if Wimbledon wasn't next week she would have played.

Dokic ready for Wimbledon after injury

Valkerie Baynes

June 22, 2009 - 6:44AM
Jelena Dokic showed she has overcome the back injury that forced her out of the French Open with a solid hit-out on Wimbledon's practice courts on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Australian trained for about 45 minutes with Russian Nadia Petrova at Aorangi, watched closely by Lleyton Hewitt's former coach Roger Rasheed ahead of her first-round match.
Dokic plays German qualifier Tatjana Malek on Tuesday, with a possible second-round clash against countrywoman Sam Stosur on the cards.
Rasheed's charge, Frenchman Gael Monfils, pulled out of Wimbledon with a wrist injury and the Australian was happy to lend his support to former world No.4 Dokic in his spare time.
Dokic, now ranked 75th in the world, showed no sign of the lower-back complaint that struck her down during the second round in Paris.
She took 10 days off immediately afterwards to receive treatment and decided not to contest the AEGON International at Eastbourne in the lead-up to Wimbledon, opting to practice instead.
Lleyton Hewitt shrugged off an injury scare and moved freely during practice for his 11th Wimbledon campaign.
The South Australian had a 45-minute hit at Aorangi a day after losing his footing during practice on Saturday.
After his fall, Hewitt stayed on the ground for some time, clearly in discomfort.
When he stood up, he clutched his left hip, but then continued to train apparently unhindered for about another half hour.
The 2002 Wimbledon champion, is working his way back up the rankings after undergoing surgery on the same hip, which sidelined him for four months at the end of last year.
In February, he dropped out of the top 100 for the first time in a decade, and is now ranked 56th.
He plays world No.114 Robby Ginepri of the United States in the first round on Tuesday.

Finally Jelena has spoken about Wimbledon and her situation!:hearts:

JELENA Dokic is not looking ahead to a potential Wimbledon second-round clash against fellow Australian Sam Stosur.

While French Open semi-finalist Stosur carries the bulk of the nation's expectations, Dokic will be pleased just to make it past German qualifier Tatjana Malek in the first round tonight after overcoming a back injury.

"For me the first match is the key and if I can win the first match, already it's a success," Dokic said after a solid practice session yesterday.

"It would be another grand slam where I've won the first round, which I think is pretty good after a five-year absence, so that's really my focus."

Dokic has had a rocky few weeks in her bid to resurrect a career blighted by controversy and family problems.

She made a tearful exit at the French Open last month, forced to withdraw with the back injury after winning the first set against Russian world No. 4 Elena Dementieva in the second round.

About the same time, Dokic's estranged father was jailed in Serbia for threatening to blow up Australia's ambassador to Belgrade and possessing illegal weapons.

The 26-year-old spent 10 days off the court while receiving treatment on her back and decided not to contest last week's grasscourt tournament at Eastbourne.

Dokic said she had no lingering signs of the injury during yesterday's solid hitout with Russian Nadia Petrova, watched closely by Lleyton Hewitt's former coach Roger Rasheed.

Frenchman Gael Monfils, who is coached by Rasheed, pulled out of Wimbledon with a wrist injury, so the Australian stepped in to advise Dokic and her coach, Borna Bikic.

"It's been good to have other help and opinions and it's been great to have him on court," Dokic said.

The move almost resulted in more controversy, however, when Rasheed left the practice court with Bikic's brother, Tin, who is also Dokic's boyfriend, claiming Petrova had insulted them.

But the players continued to train without further incident.

Dokic, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2000, is back at Wimbledon for the first time since 2006 but seems determined not to be overwhelmed.

"It's just like any other tournament. The Australian Open I also didn't play for a long time and the French Open as well, so it's good to be back," she said.
"I haven't had that many tournaments and matches this year but hopefully everything will be OK."

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,25674294-11088,00.html

------------------------------------------------------------------

"I would like to do well here, but it's not the only tournament of the year so I still have the rest of the year to play," she said.

"It was only for the first couple of days that it was a problem," the 26-year old said when asked about her injury.

"It's not a problem right now. It was a pretty good recovery."

"We pretty much knew that I probably wouldn't be ready for that. I only had about three or four days of practice before Eastbourne," she said.

"I won't answer questions regarding that, that's my private life," she said yesterday when asked how she was coping with her father's sentence.

She's a qualifier so she's already had a few matches which will work in her favour.

"But you know I just have to try to go out there and play my game, use the grass as much as I can and just try to play smart."

"Both of us have to get through the first round. That's the match I'm focusing on, especially since I haven't played on grass this year yet," Dokic said.

"So if it happens, at least one Australian will be going through which will be a good thing.

"It will be tough for both of us. We've spent a lot of time together this year at Fed Cup.

"She will have a good match . . . and we'll still be friends after the match."

"I was just disappointed at first I guess," Dokic said of the end of her French Open campaign. "I was happy with the way I was going. I was playing well. The fact is that injuries happen, it's a part of tennis."

Asked if she was expecting recurring back problems, she said: "You never know, but hopefully not."

------------------------------------------------------------------

More about the Petrova incident:
CONTROVERSY follows Jelena Dokic like an insecure labrador. However, as she prepared for her return to Wimbledon on Tuesday after a five-year absence, this time the strange kerfuffle was not of her jailed father Damir's making.

Rather, it was Dokic's practice partner, Nadia Petrova, who created a fuss. Perturbed that the Australian was getting some advice from her coach, Borna Bikic, boyfriend Tin Bikic and occasional unpaid adviser Roger Rasheed between points - standard practice court procedure - the Russian had some scathing words for Dokic's entourage.

This prompted Rasheed and Tin Bikic to leave the court, unwilling to put up with abuse from the notoriously petulant Petrova, who stalked moodily about in a pink t-shirt promoting a brand of sneakers and bearing the slogan "40-love my ass".

Of course, on the scale of Dokic controversy, this minor diplomatic incident registered about a 0.5. Just the sort of thing that happens regularly in the tense, claustrophobic world of tennis. Which might be why Dokic was bemused, but hardly distressed, by Petrova's cutting tongue.

Wish she could be healthy, and when she's healthy PLAY MORE so that she can not have to worry about having horror sets like the last 2 today and hitting one billion errors in half an hour's play.

i was out all night - but was checking the score on my phone - and when she was up a set and 1-1, i was happy.
down a break in the set - a little concerned (knowing Jelena)
when she was up 5-4 in the second - was relieved.
and then when it was 1 set all... i got worried again. decided not to look for a bit - until she sorted it out (or fell apart).
i next saw the score at 2-5. and my end of exams day finished on such a low.

i've been reading about it now - and - it doesn't sound good.
just needed to express this somewhere, coz its built up inside. gah. just want her to do well again! and this was a chance for that to happen.
but i haven't lost hope - i mean - shes playing tennis again, which is the best thing right.

she needs a plan B that isn't summarised by 'hit harder and faster'. *sigh*. ok. i need to digest this.

Meh. I was convinced she would pull it together even when she was a break down in the 3rd set. But she didn't. Horrible stats. Ugh.

I'm so over this.

Will give it a go.

Such a shame she lost but not entirely unexpected given her preparation or lack of it. She has got four back to back tournaments coming up (provided she plays them obviously) we should wait to see what happens there before getting too worried about her future in the game.

She seemed positive in the post match interview pointing out the mistakes she made i.e shot selection and is well aware that her lack of matches this year has been a major problem so i hope that will mean no more withdrawals.

I haven't seen the match but from the stats she was commanding in the first set then fell away towards the end of second and all of the third. This tells me that she lost focus and lost concentration and these things should improve with more matches.

I still have no doubt in her talent. She is still a brilliant ballstriker and shotmaker.

I think she has seen enough in herself this year to know that she can still compete with the top players so I don't think she is going to give up.

There are still four months left in the season there is still time to turn her season around.

Well i have to say that I am disappointed, for sure. I really thought she would excel at Wimbledon, and she had a good draw.

Jelena was just on Channel 9 getting an interview. She said;

She loves tennis.. still
She's positive because she knows she'll have opportunities for the rest of the year
She talked about her HAWT photo shoot.
She talked about her shopping addiction, and how she has it under control.
She looked AMAZING

It's so good that she's getting out there, involved with the tennis community so much. Especially after being a recluse since 2005-2007, it's like she believes she's meant to be a part of the tour again.

She just made a joke. LOL. Woodforde said Serena has made $23 million on the tennis court, Jelena said "That's a big number" :awww:
