In AO this year, Serena was on the way out from the tournament when Azarenka retired in the 2nd set. She went on to win the AO.

Now, Elena was also on her way out from FO, until Dokic had to retire. Is that a sign that Elena will follow Serena's footsteps...?

I know it's just a hunch, but sometimes things work in mysterious ways.... :scared: :tape:

Just a hunch...

Elena is not Serena. :tape:

She'd really have to earn it with potential wins over Jankovic, Kuznetsova/Serena, Safina/the rest.

Elena had something similar like this happen in 2004 against Smashnova, and she went on to the final. Maybe the third time's a charm.

Dokic is my #1 but I'm also gunning for her to win it now after the unfortunate incident.

Im thinkin no......this is Elena we're talkin about....

Whats of note is as far as i can remember when Venus saves match points she usually does really well....if she gets to the next round i expect her to at least make the semis.

still has to get to the 1/4s where she will face jankovic/kwoz, kuz and then safina. she'll really need to step it up with how shes been playing

Nope. She was lucky but I dont think shes playing good enough to win it, so unless she improves ALOT asap then no way. I mean it'd be nice, because out of the girls left Elena is def one of the ones I like.
