Shes crying :sobbing: The FO must be so stressful for some of their players. Cant wait for grass, this match showed everything thats wrong with her clay game, and shitty serving too...

Forza Tax

What a delight to watch :hearts: I think Garbin is always great entertainment. Her game is sooo beautiful, with the slices and the approaches to the net. She plays really smart as well and could totally capitalize on Marion's poor movement on the surface. Great fighting from both girls as well.

Marion played so poorly today. Never took the ball early, never tried to dictate the point. Why can't French girls release pressure when they play in Roland-Garros? Anyway clay has never been her surface...
Garbin was good in the 1st set but Marion had many opportunities in the 2nd. Plenty. Such a shame...............

Quite an enjoyable fight to watch with this captivating tight atmosphere.

Horrible player to watch this Garbin, can't stand her.

She exhales as loud as she possibly can about 3 seconds after she hits the ball, then randomly decides to scream.

F#*& off Garbin...(probably a bit harsh)

Sucks for Marion, probably put too much pressure on herself.

Marion was awful today. Seriously, her game is so unattractive. And why the hell can't she run to the net?! :help:

I quite like Tax, though that "grunt" is dreadful. It's almost like laughing and coughing at the same time.

lol Be fair. She had a strategy today, and exploited Marion's weak movements on clay with her dropshots, slices, changes of rythm.Marion should have crush her but she got outmanoeuvred.

Marion puts too much pressure on herself in front of the crowd. You could see it in her posture, tense, shoulders hunched. Arvane probably doesnt play with that pressure and is comfortable on clay to top it off. :o

For players like Amelie and Marion, they're often viewed as the French hope to win the tournie and they know it, hence their poor performances here (Amelie in particular...) - Aravane won't have the same pressure when she's not ranked as high as the others and casual French fans might only know her by name...? I don't know, I'm not French.

Aravane and Virginie in R3 RG? If you picked two players at the start from France to get that far, who would you have picked?

Bartoli is not a very graceful person...

MARION BARTOLI: Well, I was a bit tired. A bit sick, I think, as well. So it was not easy. It was so cold out there. Really cold on the court.

I was not really fit, that's true. The conditions were notreally good for me. It was really hard.

Q. What about the incredible number of break points?

MARION BARTOLI: Well, you know, the court was really heavy. The balls were heavy. My serve was not okay at all. I couldn't hit the balls correctly, either. So I wanted to fight back as well as I could, but that was not sufficient.

The way she played, her attitude was getting on my nerves, so I had to calm down. It was not easy. She would always return all the balls, all the points. I was not hitting stronglyenough. The surface was really slow.

There was a lot of clay under my feet. It was a bit heavy. 15 degrees. It's not the best conditions.

Q. Yousaid difficult conditions. What do youmean by this?

MARION BARTOLI: What?

Q. You said her attitude was a bit strange. What do you mean by this?

MARION BARTOLI: Well, it's her clan. When I made unforced errors, her team wouldshout. It's not sportslike. They're Italians.

Q. You're Italian too. Yourgrandfather, as well, is Italian.

MARION BARTOLI: I'm from Corsica.
