If Ruano Pascual beat Serena on grass, she'll definetely beat her on clay as well! :p

To be honest when I looked up this h2h I figured they'd have played loads with both being on tour for so long.

I remember this match from 1998. Weird and even odder that it is now 2009. 11 years b/w meetings. That's messed.

It won't be easy, but Serena should pull through.

VRP used to be extremely tough on clay I think, not sure how she's been playing the last couple years though (besides doubles). Don't think she'll be up to taking out Serena, but who knows. If VRP does anything itll be making Serena hit a lot of balls I'd think.

That being said, Serena 6-2 6-4 :p She wont let another lead slip.

I can see this one going two ways. If Serena plays well, then it will be a straight-forward no-contest match. However, with the injury, the late run of losses, and the fact that she played awful in her last match, VRP could very possibly snatch it away - in 2 or 3. I fear for Serena's sake, it might be the latter. She's just not in any good form at all.

Serena in two fairly competitive sets. VRP will win between 7 and 9 games I think.

Serena, VRP will send Rena alot of slice and moonballs but her serve is too weak and Rena will win without losing more than 6 games.

Ruano and Martinez-Sanchez are very uncomfartable opponents on clay for Serena.
