WWW - Serena Williams vs Virginia Ruano PascualBecool May 26th, 2009, 04:48 PM SCARY! :tape: Ballbasher May 26th, 2009, 04:54 PM Serena in easy two. AnnaK_4ever May 26th, 2009, 04:59 PM Serena couldn't have asked for a weaker opponent. Dave. May 26th, 2009, 05:07 PM Serena the favourite, shouldn't really lose. but go Vivi!!! She is good on the clay and does have a game to mix it up and move Serena around. Hopefully it's a good match. tennisfan5 May 26th, 2009, 05:10 PM Well, Virginia does lead the head to head...;) NeeemZ May 26th, 2009, 05:10 PM Despite Serena's current form, she'll win 6-3 6-1. Mina Vagante May 26th, 2009, 05:13 PM Serena 6-3 6-2 Dave. May 26th, 2009, 05:15 PM Well, Virginia does lead the head to head...;) haha, true! If she can do it at Wimbledon she can do it in Paris  Dodoboy. May 26th, 2009, 05:16 PM Serena come on! Time to start playing well! gmokb May 26th, 2009, 05:18 PM I am going with Serena but in 3 sets. Equus May 26th, 2009, 05:19 PM More time to rest for Serena. AnnaK_4ever May 26th, 2009, 05:20 PM VRP has got nothing in her game to trouble Serena or any other top-20 player, NOTHING. starin May 26th, 2009, 05:32 PM :spit: VRP leads the H2H 1-0 and beat Serena on grass. If VRP can beat Serena on grass then on clay.......:scared: I don't know how in 11 years they've only managed to play each other once in singles. homogenius May 26th, 2009, 05:34 PM Even in this form I don't see Serena losing bar a total self-destruction. Lennval May 26th, 2009, 05:35 PM go Vivi :p Aaric May 26th, 2009, 05:35 PM If Vivi doesn´t beat her, Maria José Martínez will do :) AnnaK_4ever May 26th, 2009, 05:35 PM :spit: VRP leads the H2H 1-0 and beat Serena on grass. If VRP can beat Serena on grass then on clay.......:scared: I don't know how in 11 years they've only managed to play each other once in singles. Serena doesn't play MM tournaments and VRP's ranking is not good enough to earn her a main draw spot in bigger events  cellophane May 26th, 2009, 05:37 PM When did they last play at Wimbledon (or wherever it was)? starin May 26th, 2009, 05:41 PM When did they last play at Wimbledon (or wherever it was)? 1998 Wimbledon VRP won 75 41 ret. Shvedbarilescu May 26th, 2009, 06:05 PM VRP has got nothing in her game to trouble Serena or any other top-20 player, NOTHING. At this stage in Virginie's career that is mostly true. But I would rephrase that statement just slightly. "VRP has got nothing in her game to trouble any player playing top-20 standard tennis. This thing is I don't think right now Serena is playing top 20 standard tennis on the clay. Top 50 perhaps but top 20? No. Therefore while I still think Serena will still win in two I do think it will be a competitive match, something like 6-4 7-5. MrSerenaWilliams May 26th, 2009, 06:46 PM Serena obviously is the favorite, and with a day off and a double's match under her belt, she should be sharp enough to win this one in 2. vrp1 May 26th, 2009, 06:59 PM OK, normally Serena win it easy in 2, but she`s not soooo good at the moment and it`s on clay.....! This time Vivi :hearts: could win in 3 ;) ! serenus_2k8 May 26th, 2009, 07:00 PM Rena 7-6 6-4 cn ireland May 26th, 2009, 07:02 PM Serena in 2! AcesHigh May 26th, 2009, 07:15 PM Serena in two quick and easy sets. Virginia should play not to get double bagelled. After today's performance, Serena will be determined and take it out in her next singles match. RenaSlam. Serena 7-5, 6-3 :weirdo: With fans like these..who needs haters? Yea... no way Serena is losing tomorrow. propi May 26th, 2009, 08:09 PM Vamos Vivi, it's extremely difficult but by no means impossible :yeah: :) hankqq May 26th, 2009, 09:08 PM hopefully Serena will even up the h2h :p Ellen Dawson May 26th, 2009, 09:53 PM One tight set and Serena moves on. That's it. :p Buitenzorg May 27th, 2009, 04:29 AM I wouldn't be so surprise if VRP beats Serena 2-6 7-5 6-4 Temperenka May 27th, 2009, 04:41 AM Serena 6-3, 6-1. Honestly, Klara is a tougher opponent and Serena will raise her game. VRP doesn't hit many winners/ues, so Serena will be able to execute her game and win easily. young_gunner913 May 27th, 2009, 04:43 AM Serena 6-2, 6-4 :) Lulu. May 27th, 2009, 04:48 AM Serena in straight sets to even up that H2H. :o Expecting her to clean up her game and keep it movin. le bon vivant May 27th, 2009, 04:54 AM Is this girl fast? lol. Good luck Serena CoryAnnAvants#1 May 27th, 2009, 06:19 AM I don't know why people are so quick to dismiss Ruano Pascual. We're talking about an 18 year veteran of the tour here. Clay is her best surface by far, she's a former Roland Garros quarterfinalist, and she plays a game full of variety that's rarely seen these days. Of course Serena is supposed to steamroll through this match on paper if she's healthy, but she's still injured and barely beat the #100 ranked player in the world today. If she's not on her game, Ruano Pascual plays the type of tennis that's going to be a real pain in the ass for Serena to deal with. She'll more than likely win, but it won't be easy--something like 7-6 6-4 for Serena. Lulu. May 27th, 2009, 06:23 AM She isn't injured playing Singles and Doubles. Douce May 27th, 2009, 06:34 AM My gosh you ppl ar sooooo dramatic...acting like she might lose, she is gonna win period! The girl is a scrub, and Serena will clean it up. Night ZeroSOFInfinity May 27th, 2009, 06:50 AM If Serena decides to up the ante and become a bigger hot mess than her sister, then we are alooking at an upset here. Otherwise, she will do just fine. Koon May 27th, 2009, 07:21 AM Serena in 2 easy sets :D OsloErik May 27th, 2009, 07:59 AM Obviously Serena is the favorite, but I have two words: Nathalie Dechy. A veteran player with a smart, consistent game plan and lots of doubles experience always has a shot of pushing a top player in spotty form to the absolute brink. Virginia has a very high 1st serve percentage, she places the ball well, and she's very quick. She's not going to win a lot of points off winners from the baseline. But she can stretch a point and make Serena sweat, and she can also move forward quite a bit. She hasn't played Serena in singles since Serena was a promising kid, but she's played her a TON in doubles. She's got a good idea what she'll be facing. I'm picking Serena, but it's not necessarily going to be a roll-over-and-die performance. Let's also remember this may be Virginia's last French Open. She's got a lot of motivation. I'm certainly going to enjoy this match, and I'm definitely going to enjoy seeing Serena getting all the practice and rallies VRP will force. Josh. May 27th, 2009, 08:16 AM Serena 61 57 75. | |
