It will be a close first set.
The winner of the first set will get destroyed in the second set.

I honestly don't think it will be that close. Safarova doesn't worry me. Unless Venus throws in a UE fest, then she should win this in 2 sets, or 3 sets with the first and last being easy ones and teh middle being a hiccup.

Besides taking a set off Venus in Rome, Lucie took one decisively from Safina in Madrid, and the sets she won against Lisicki today had strong scorelines. So she's capable of taking at least a set.

These two are my favorite players, so I hate it that they're playing each other so early. But I'll be happy to see both of them.

I am still waiting to see Vee's first match to assess how she is playing. However, being a fan I am picking Vee but not sure if it will take three.

You act like it was a close 3 setter? Vee had complete control with her 6-1,4-6,6-2 win. She had a lapse in the second set but she was not close to being upset? Maybe if the final set had been 6-4, 7-5, etc then yes she would have "Dodged a massive bullet" but with a 4-0 lead and a 6-2 set no. Vee was in control.
