First round is good, very winnable against Virginia. She only has a slice backhand, not much power overall. But the second round, on the other hand... I suppose anything could happen. Serena could still be injured, or Nicole could find some great tennis, but it's very hard.

The first round match looks more favorable for Nikki than last year`s match against Iveta. However the second round looks very tough with a likely meeting against Serena. However i think that Nikki has a glimmer of hope in it. I really hope that she will do well in Roland Garros and build some positive momentium.

This probably means she'll have to play several matches in consecutive days - look at the weather forecast for tomorrow (and that has improved considerably from the forecasts of a few days ago, which gave Monday and Tuesday as near total washouts).

The 3-day 1R format is terribly unfair to those who play only on Tuesday - even more so when rain delays are expected.

All i can say about Nikki`s performance today is that i`m glad that there were no camera on Court 17, which means that we were spared having to see Nikki`s bumbling around. :sad:
