She is ranked #126 right now and she isn't playing qualies nor given a wildcard spot. :confused:

Sharapova has made the MDs for Roland Garros and Wimbledon based on her ranking, which at the time, was in the 50s when the entries were made.

She has a protected ranking and will use it in order to enter the American hardcourt tournaments. (Maybe even the Fall events if she doesn't raise her ranking by then).

I looked it up, and you can't use the protected ranking either for Grand Slam tournaments, or to be seeded at a tournament.
And you can only use it a maximum of eight times.

Of course you can use a Protected Ranking to enter a Grand Slam tournament.
