View Full Version : Yung-Jan CHAN officially out of Roland Garros w/ stress fracture.

Yet another victim of this damn injury. :help: She's forced to take longer treatment for her left foot, which means she's dropping out of the top 100 as Strasbourg SF points come off. She has yet a definite date for return. Her last tournament was Miami where she lost to eventual quarterfinalist Makarova in three sets.

YJ Chan made her WTA top 100 debut in Oct. 2006, at the age of 17 and 2 months, after making her first tour semifinal in Tokyo Tier III. And she hasn't fallen out of it since then.

She has participated in 12 GS maindraws; 11 in a row since Wimbledon 2006. It's the first time she skips a GS (MD/Q) while her ranking's good enough to get her in.
