No huge changes compared with 2009 I think:unsure:yeah, but the reason why i am wondering is cause i heard it should give a wta tournement again in switzerland.. and that it should be clear when the schedule for 2010 would have been cleaned up (in madrid)

I heard many players talking about current schedule being too tough for players. They're talking about that to WTA and there might be some big changes next year.

I hope there are some changes and new tournaments in new countries and cities, cause this year's calendar is kinda boring.

Is Birmingham moving location? Today when I went and they interviewed players on courts, the compere said that they hoped that players would be returning to Birmingham next year. However, in a shared taxi back to the train station, a guy told me that it would be moving to Queens!

nothing finalised yet but:

Birmingham is staying where it is according to the club, but if there's another WTA event the same week, Birmingham draw reduced to 32 :fiery:

Kuala Lumpur in week 9
Charleston wants to move to week after Marbella

Stuttgart wants a Tues start.

There was rumours of Birm moving, but who knows. Are any of the other AEGON events moving? Will Nottingham def. stay?

I agree with the major holes in the calendar statement. It seems the ATP has the big names out in action far more often and its far better televised when the events are on :(

The "holes" in the calendar are there so that the Top Players can have some rest.

:(

ATP Notthingham is done and has been replaced this year by Eastourne. Eastbourne will be a mixed event this year. So the rumours aout Queen's for WTA next year is interesting.

I think they have removed some historic venues, such as Filderstadt, Amelia Island, Hamburg, Berlin, and they were really good tournaments, I dont agree with that.

I don't understand what is going on with the English schedule according to the Birmingham Post. Nottingham this year a success?- it is downgraded to a women's ITF event. I thought they had dumped the venue because these tournaments were actually losing money. It all looks suspiciously incompetent. The LTA it seems tried to force Edgbaston's hand re improving their facilities but it did not work, and they can't find sponsors to help foot the bill to develop any other venue by the look of it. If they want a more plush Birmingham venue, maybe the LTA will have to share more of its money around to redevelop it?
