I don't know if you guys noticed, but it looked like players in Charleston were having trouble sliding on the clay a few weeks back. They would try to slide but a lot of times they would just stick. If you remember in the Dementieva vs Wozniacki match, Wozniacki had a terrifying fall while running full speed and trying to slide up to a drop shot and instead her foot just stuck to the clay. Luckily Caroline continued falling instead of trying to stop her momentum, because she would've ruined her ankle maybe forever.

Apparently Vera's ankle injury is very serious. Tati Golovin had a similar injury at Miami against Sharapova, and it definitely contributed to ending Tati's career. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I think somebody should say something to the tour about this.
