Welcome to London for the climax of OWTT's 5th season. The season's top 8 performers arrive in London to battle it out for the prestigious Year End Championships. It should be an immensely exciting tournament! With Hantuchova and Venus way ahead of the pack this season, it would come as no surprise to see these two do battle in the final. However, I’m sure the other six would love to put a spanner in the works!

Venus stamped her authority today. She knew getting off to a good start was key and she never really let Li into the match. Perhaps Li was distracted having being flown in from Linz at the last minute to replace Davenport who was out due to a hip replacement just before her 89th birthday

Zheng will be furious with herself after this match. She let a huge 5-1 lead slip in the first set and had an early lead in the second aswell. But kudos to Hantuchova for showing true grit and determination and fighting her way back to win this one. Nice opener for the World #1. Back to the drawing board for Zheng.

From midway through the second set, Molik really stepped things up and took it to Kournikova. The Aussie's power play was too much for her opponent and she breezed through the decider with ease. Good start to Molik. Last year's finalist Kournikova will be hoping for better fortune in her next match.

WOW!! Who would have expected such a whitewash?! Hantuchova had played so well in the RR stages and looked like she would go all the way, but Li's game fitted perfectly today as she played flawless tennis and inflicts the worst scoreline on Hantuchova for a long while. Although she only came in as an Alternate, Li is out to prove she belongs here and moves a step closer to regaining the YEC which she won a couple of seasons ago!

Shame for Kirilenko that she won the first CT and not the other way round, else she would have won this in three sets :hug: - she still let a 5-2 lead go in the second though and will be kicking herself for that. Congratulations to Kournikova who wins the coveted YEC. Li was probably the favourite coming in as she easily took out #1 Hantuchova in the semis, but it was not to be. Kournikova had struggled in the group stages but really stepped it up in the semis and final. She was very sharp today and played a little better than Li on the big points. She goes one better last year, while denying Li her second YEC title. Still a great tournament for Li who made the most of her late entry due to Davenport's withdrawal
