She made the US Open main draw for 20 years in a row... really quite impressive. Just wondering if she's officially retired or not...

Amy was a solid player for a long, long time. I think her biggest title was actually Indian Wells one year. I remember her in an interview where she said she wanted to become a teacher after she finished with tennis. I wonder if she's still pursuing that...

These days most players don't retire officially. They just don't play anymore. Maybe because of sponsors or whatever.

shes probably under a parasol somewhere squirting on suncream and trying to flog her 1980's style rackets on ebay lol.

she was a workhorse and journey woman of the highest order.

She's teaching tennis part time in her home state of Michigan :p. She underwent shoulder surgery in March of 2007 which was the main reason why she did not play for the rest of 2006 after the US Open.
Thats all i know...:p Maybe someone else knows more ;)

I was gonna say she is probably spending some time in the solarium trying to work on that (lack of) a tan of hers.

I can still picture her walking onto Centre Court with nothing more than a handbag and a couple old racquets next to Sharapova with her huge racquet bag and all the extras, ahh I miss her

She kept same results, same ranking with various generation of players..she was for 17 years in top 70 at the end of the year and something like 20 years in top 100 until she retired...I saw one of her matches against Venus and she was impressive...

I know she's not working in rehab. Otherwise, your ass would have seen her a couple of times already.

I miss her, too. And I can't find any videos of her on youtube. If anyone has any they should definitely upload or post a link! ;)

Can't think of any player that was more genuine and humble than she was. Miss seeing her name in draws a lot.

She's a legend in her own right. I loved, LOVED watching her play. What a sport.

She made the absolute most of her talent without compromising her integrity or stepping on anybody else's toes.

I still cannot believe what matches she gave both Sharapova and Kuznetsova when they won majors in 2004. She was absolutely hooked on a few calls at the US Open loss to Kuznetsova too.

I miss her. There's really nobody like her on tour right now.
I wish she'd just come back for the 500th win!
