View Full Version : Did the Liscki-Venus match remind anyone of the Golovin-Venus match in 2005?

It reminded me of that match alot Venus playing nothing special and her opponnet not heard of much comes out good and beats her in straight sets. Reminded me of Golovin's breakthrough when she made the semis. Hopefully Liscki loses now :bounce: kidding

Golovin "broke through" in 2004 having reached Oz, Wimbledon and Miami 4th rounds, Paris Indoors SF, Birmingham F, Canadian Open QF and defeated two top-10 players. She finished 2004 as world #27.

Isn't Venus now famous for going walkabouts in her matches, when she seems set to make the finals she finds a way to create a star out of some much lower ranked opponenet

Lisikcki reminds me of Kim Clijsters. Especially on serve.
But she's still quite far away from the Belgian's standard.

I actually think Sabine has a better service action than KIm. Far more fluent extension, and doesn't drop her left arm too quickly like Kim does.

Agreed. No one stands a chance against the mighty Golovin backand.
