Of course, you're not supposed to have a look at a map on Internet, try to do it by yourself, it'd be interesting to know how high is the knowledge of the Americans about their own country. :p

My best score is 62 clicks and I'm French. :p

Whoa! You would not do well on the US Cities one. The US cities one is very hard! You know what state they belong to, but then the exact spot? Such as in Ohio, Florida, California when a few are bunched and very close!

I was able to do it in 56.

Knizzle
Apr 16th, 2009, 06:33 AM
Did it in 54 clicks and I'm embarrassed. :o lol.

If Americans don't get 50 in 50 clicks for the states, they need to be deported. Now I did make 1 mistake on the US cities one where I mixed up Hartford and Bridgeport but the map is so tiny my little old eyes had a hard time picking between the two

I'm telling you, the cities are hard! Not because of the cities but because of the map!

357 clicks :p

I don't really care about the U.S States, 47 of them are pointless anyway.

The east coast is bit crowded on the cities map. ;) Bigger map would make it easier indeed.

Europe was easy, but I'm not even going to attempt France. :scared: ;)

Depends. Did you count all the clicks or just how many mistakes you had? For cities I had 51 all together - 50 correct clicks and 1 incorrect one. ;)

50 for US States and Cities, 49 for Europe.

The Europe map was bizarre; why was it so skewed? I'm not making excuses, though, I definitely would have gotten some wrong anyways.

Do American children learn the map of the US and the placement of the states when they are at school ?
In France, we don't learn where the departements are, I had a try at the French Map and I can't even finish it

My daughter learned all the states and their outlines in first grade (Colorado and Wyoming are close enough for jazz, unless you're looking at a full map). She also was taught a song that lists all the states in alphabetical order, so she knows that as well.

Your departments has too far similar names. For exemple, Loire, Haute-Loire, Loire-Atlantique, Indre-et-Loire, Maine-et-Loire and Saône-et-Loire.

And Loiret.

Yep it's true.
There is currently a project of law for making a new map of France, with bigger "states". Sarkozy & Co wants to copy and paste the US system indeed. :tape:

I know. They want to merge and redraw actual regions and delete departments. Many general councils are against and some regional councils also. Yet, if I remember well, they were proposing a region who would be from the Spanish border to Vendee, almost to Nantes. That one is ridiculous I think.

At least, USA map is clearer and less confusing.
