:o

Wonder why Shuai isn't playing  Shuai can be the third singles (if needed) and play doubles. As it stands, who will play doubles if it's tied 2-2 after singles?

Tiantian/Jie? :help:

IMO germany will win due to it being on clay, plus the home crowd

ALG beat zheng pretty easily at the end of last year on a pretty fast surface, so she should be able to on clay as well
I'm not too sure about how it will go, but i think germany will win

China should win this easily if they play well, no matter what the surface is.

Anna Lena and Sabine have been playing relatively shit lately. Na and Jie are probably the opposite of shit so far this season.

:) Go China. Also, only 1650 people? That isn't very much.

I would think Zheng Jie's game would translate very well to clay. She's quick, has excellent foot work, and plays a great counter punching game that you might think would work well.

Do keep in mind Zheng's best slam result before her Wimby SF last year was at Roland Garros.

Li Na I am a little bit more worried for, but she always contended that her goal was to play at the French Open (I recall her saying that many years ago). She clearly has an affinity for the dirt even if, her game doesn't appear to set up very well for it.

Wouldn't be so sure of everyone predicting an easy china win. Groenefeld is proven on clay more than any other player from both countries and she has the doubles experience to be a contender there. This tie is dependent on Groenefeld moreso than any other player.

Groenefeld is playing like sh!t this season and Lisicki even managed to lose to Schnyder in Fed Cup this year, not to mention she is terrible on clay.
